Did the Mets seriously not trade this guy? He's going to walk in the offseason.

It's da Mess, don't try to make sense of them.

Was really excited about the possibility of him on the Astros or Rays and to get him far away from the disaster that is the Mets defense. Ugh

Agree! It seems like he always gets beat up in the first inning then settles in. Hopefully that is not the case.

Over a 5 ERA v Nats in 100+ IP...with as up-and-down as he's been recently I don't think I would trust him?

Next week's two step is dicey as well, gets a Snakes team he mostly owned and then a Sun start v a Dodgers teams that has his number (albeit in a smaller sample)...both starts are at home at least though.

anyone trust wheeler today vs the Nats?

He's pitched against them 3 or 4 times this year and gotten shelled Everytime. Not starting

Dude's an average pitcher, and unless he finds a way to improve command, he'll always be mediocre.
Once his stuff diminishes a little, he'll be out of baseball quick.

Where did the guy go that had a 1.68 ERA in 75 second half innings last year? His FB velo this year is even half a tick faster.
