2019 Call Up Watch Thread

tonycpsu

This thread is for discussion of confirmed and/or imminent call-ups.  If you've seen news that someone has been called up, or informed speculation from reputable sources that someone may be on their way to the show soon, feel free to share these items with the community here.  Do not ask "who's going to be called up next?" -- that's what the thread is for, so asking is superfluous.  Also, do not use this thread for deep dives into specific minor league players -- that's what their MiLB outlook threads are for.

This is because Orlando Arcia got injured so it might be a temporary call-up so keep that in mind:

Robert Murray of The Athletic reports that the Brewers will promote Mauricio Dubon from Triple-A San Antonio on Sunday.

That likely means that Orlando Arcia (shoulder) is heading to the injured list after colliding with teammate Keston Hiura during Saturday's game. Dubon, 24, has had a nice season at Triple-A, slashing .306/.343/.487 with 14 homers, 42 RBI and eight stolen bases. He could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues in the event that Arcia is forced to miss an extended period of time.

Better late than never. A name I've seen for years and years in Yahoo's database is called up finally.  The ultimate post-hype sleeper I guess ... if he can wake up from his sleep.

Royals purchased the contract of OF Bubba Starling from Triple-A Omaha.

Starling was non-tendered by the Royals last November but re-signed on a minor league deal in December and will now get his first shot in the majors at age 26. The former No. 5 overall pick is a notorious draft-day bust, but he had registered a promising .310/.358/.448 batting line with seven home runs and nine stolen bases in 72 games this season at the Triple-A level. He could get a decent amount of playing time in Kansas City -- probably in center field -- but there's not a ton of immediate fantasy appeal here.

Well he stuck it out for years down on the farm so I hope he can stick in The Show now.
