2019 Call Up Watch Thread

tonycpsu

This thread is for discussion of confirmed and/or imminent call-ups.  If you've seen news that someone has been called up, or informed speculation from reputable sources that someone may be on their way to the show soon, feel free to share these items with the community here.  Do not ask "who's going to be called up next?" -- that's what the thread is for, so asking is superfluous.  Also, do not use this thread for deep dives into specific minor league players -- that's what their MiLB outlook threads are for.

Espn is saying Justus Sheffield is a candidate to be called up for a Saturday start vs Toronto. He wasn’t great in AAA this season but he has turned it on since going to AA (and ditching the juiced balls) going 1.75 ERA with a 1.00 whip and a 79:16 K:BB in 11 starts across 72 innings.

Nate Lowe is back... again... again... again...

"The first of what will be a large number of September callups includes infielders Nate Lowe and Daniel Robertson, relievers Pete Fairbanks and Hoby Milner, and catcher Michael Perez."

  • Astros recalled OF Kyle Tucker from Triple-A Round Rock.

Tucker will join the Astros ahead of Monday's series opener against the Brewers. The 22-year-old top outfield prospect put up 34 home runs, 97 RBI, 30 stolen bases, and 92 runs scored in 125 games this season at the Triple-A level, alongside a .909 OPS, but it's unclear how much he is going to play down the stretch in Houston. He's much more of a dynasty league asset than a redraft league asset in fantasy.

Ronald Bolanos will make his major-league debut as a starter against Arizona on Tuesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bolanos was called up from Double-A Amarillo on Monday and will take a turn in the rotation when he debuts Tuesday. The 23-year-old has been used as a starter in 57 of 66 career minor-league appearances, compiling a 21-18 record in that role.

No clue on this kid, any pads guys have anything?
