David Price 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

I didn't see a 2019 outlook for 'ol David - anybody rolling out tonight with confidence? The illness in ST has me concerned he's gonna be behind schedule and could get rocked in this one.

With LESS innings (only 6.2) pitched then the first four Sox pitchers this spring training and looking like he lost a little weight when he was out last month with his illness?  Well this will be interesting.

I guess the good news is Oakland is a pitcher's ballpark with a large foul ball territory.  And that is all I got for "good" news.

Conventional wisdom says bench.  But conventional wisdom said Sale, Nathan, Erod, Porcello, should all perform well against the Mariners and they all got bombed.  One Sox starter is due to do well.  That’s all I got.

Could be a nice buy-low...

I just traded for him.

His next start is against Baltimore.

Looked like vintage David Price today. Let’s see if he can carry the momentum and confidence he got today into his next start.

What the heck, man.  At this point, MLB should just list every player as on the IL.  These guys are hitting the IL at such a fast clip, I can't even stay up with it.

Huh?  Where did the TJ assumption come from?  How did we get from tendinitis to asking about TJ  all of a sudden?  Tendinitis is tendinitis.

Quote

David Price (elbow) is hopeful of missing just 1-2 starts.

Price was placed on the injured list Monday with left elbow tendinitis. He dodged questions about how long the elbow had been sore, saying only that it's "bothering" him right now. The good news is that he said the injury is "not even close" to as bad as the elbow issue he dealt with a couple years ago that caused him to miss a large chunk of the season. It sounds like the lefty should be back later this month if all goes well, although it's still obviously early in the recovery process.

He's dominated the Blue Jays throughout his career and his rival pitcher is Edwin Jackson..I'd say it's pretty good.

67 pitches....did he leave early due to this being his 1st start back? Or was it injury related?

From what I was reading earlier he was going to available for 5-6 innings, looks like they went with 5.

Playing against that Blue Jays lineup is basically a rehab start. Plugging him back into my lineup on his next turn without hesitation.
