Archer sent his message & nobody got hurt. Bush league by Dietrich. Puig just acted like an idiot

Clevinger throwing high octane. 97 MPH. 5K's after 3.

Had I known he would have a decent velocity increase I would have definitely targeted him more

wainwright looking like his old self 4 k thru 2 innings. hope it continues

I’m watching too and agree he’s looked great through 2. He can still do this when he hits his spots with precision like he has so far today.

Clevinger out after only 5 innings and 75 pitches.

As a Clev owner and a Tribe fan, I am very concerned. TV shot showed the head trainer conferring with Tito and pitching coach Carl Willis after Clevinger was removed from the game. No word yet as to why.

Yeah but did you see once he had runners on 2nd / 3rd no out? Still an incredible job of execution.

But ya know plenty more starts to go.

He got Tellez to chase strike 3. That pitch was 4 inches to high. A rising fastball.

“Sent his message” lol. How about he sends good pitches over the plate?

completely agree, I have no idea why puig overreacted like that. I mean I guess I shouldn't be surprised

yea for sure when he is locating fastball and curve he is still tough to hit.  I know he has given up a run here in the third but honestly ill take that considering his last outing was pretty rough, as long as he can keep the cards in the game.

Caleb Smith looked great to start the game but got increasingly wild as the game went on. He was lucky to only give up 3 runs, imo. Gotta think he's done after six and we'll take this line any day. 6 innings, 4 hits, 2 walks, 7 strikeouts. 3 earned runs.

So glad I went against my tendency and actually paid for a catcher this year. :)

I know he has burned a lot of people in the past but I don't hate owning Archer this year.  We'll see what happens but I think his draft price seemed appropriate for what he is: a low 4 ERA guy who is a contender to give 200 IP and over 200 K, with a very slight chance of getting down to the high 3s if the new team adjustments click.  It's a paradigm shift from when we thought he was an ace in the making, but those high IP/high K types are getting rarer.

Now of course I'm sure he'll get (even more) shelled.  Posting this mid game was a bad choice...

Well you're lucky you didn't because he's probably toast.

Is there any info on this? Source?

Clevinger left the game with upper back tightness. Doesn't sound overly serious.
