Cesar Hernandez or Swanson? (WHIR)

Recommended Posts

Roster and settings for those on mobile (sorry for any wonky formatting):

10 team Roto 7x7 redraft                                (OBP, R, HR, SB, RBI, XBH, AB    x    W, K, Sv, ERA, QS, IP, GIDP)

C- Sanchez,    1B- Shaw (1B/2B/3B),     2B- JoRam,    SS- Tatis, Jr,    3B- Rendon,    MI- Muncy (1B/2B/3B)

CI-  Alonso,   OF- Betts,   Soto,   Rosario,  MlxSmith,  Hamilton,  U- Cruz

bench- AJones,   CHernandez

SP- Snell,       Buehler,       Flaherty,        Bumgarner,       Bieber,        Paddack,

RP- Chapman,  Osuna,  Leclerc,  Smith

DL-  Lindor,       CMart

In third place, about ten points back (in 7th place in OBP).  Was banking on Hernandez for roughly .350 OBP, 10 HR and 20+ SB.  But Swanson hasn't been picked up yet, and I'm having a hard time continuing to look the other way.  I really don't see another drop, and this will create a bit of a logjam when Lindor returns as I'd have Lindor, Swanson (or Hernandez), Muncy, Tatis and Cruz competing for three spots in the lineup.  Maybe if Alonso continues to show he's the real deal, I can look into moving Shaw.....

Anyway, for NOW -- Cesar Hernandez or Dansby Swanson?  And leave your link!

I like Swanson. He was a #1 overall pick, Cesar wasn't.

Help with mine?

After I posted this, I realized I should probably include Adam Jones as a drop option, although:

A) PAs are a stat, so it's nice having a bench OF in a five OF league;

B ) I'm thinking about making a pre-emptive move for Jeffress since I'm thinking there's a decent shot he takes over as closer so they can put Hader back to working where needed in high-leverage situations.  Then I can either roll with all the closers to build a lead in saves or package one in a trade somewhere.

C) Cutting Hernandez helps avoid the glut mentioned above.
