[...] I think he’s the real deal from watching him play and looking at the underlying numbers.

Left game with injured chest.

Just as he was getting his stroke back.

Damn this BS.

Chest(thorax) tightness? WTF? That’s a baseball injury if I’ve ever heard one.

Good thing is they said it was precautionary...hopefully just day to day and not DL...

He never lost his stroke though.  Hopefully will be a short-term thing.

Spin: Dozier was removed from the contest in the fifth inning, and it's since been revealed that he was dealing with tightness in his chest. He's likely headed for further testing to determine the severity of the injury.

From MLB.com

As for Dozier, he said he felt some discomfort in his last plate appearance of the night.

“Throughout the at-bat it just got tighter and tighter, and then they decided to take me out just to be careful,” Dozier said. “Quick decision. That’s something you don’t really mess around with, try to get on top of it before it gets worse.”

Dozier is the only Royals hitter with qualifying plate appearances with an average above .300 this season. He’s hitting .315 with 11 homers and a .990 OPS. He had multiple hits in four of his last five games entering Thursday.

Manager Ned Yost said he’ll probably have to give Dozier a day or two off now.

So hopefully this is just a couple days rest thing.

Any update on if this requires an IL stint?

No updates I've seen, it said he should be hitting off a tee today too.  Anybody seen anything?

Heading to the IL...

This news does not shock me. Honestly with this injury the Royals should have IL him as soon as it happen.

Any local updates? Asking for a weekly league friend.

Took some swings, felt good, and "hopes" to return Tuesday but most likely will be later next week

He is eligible to be activated today but I have heard nothing about it. Anybody have any info on his return?

Thanks.

I thought I saw someone say he'd be activated today. This clears things up.

Manager Ned Yost said Dozier (side) will likely require a rehab assignment before rejoining the Royals, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Just keeps getting worse. He'll be activated today. No tomorrow. No, he needs rehab first.Soon he'll be out for the year :P
