He will be back, try to hold on

Easier said than done for some.  Are you suggesting he’ll be back soon or like in july? Obviously no one knows, but Anyone’s insight into this is appreciated.  I don’t even know why he got sent down.

Watched him today, looked like he was totally overmatched vs left handed pitching. Swinging at pitches in the dirt in multiple ABs. Sucks to see him go down but I’ll be keeping tabs on him.

To answer my own question from above, I’m assuming he was just an injury fill in for meadows.

I think today he pressed... they probably said hey its you heading back and maybe he thought if I hit a bomb it won't be me... cause he isn't as terrible as he looked today... he's been getting hot the last two games and dudes gonna be a masher for the next ten years... today isn't what got him sent down...

1) why not Choi?

2) If Choi continues to be below average can we assume that Lowe will be back to replace him?

Talent rises to the top and Big Nate will be back before too long

Any injury he's first up with the versalitily of Brandon and Joey to move around the diamond to make room for the young slugger.

In any decent sized keeper you hold on, redraft, drop but pay close attention and be willing to spend your FAAB when he gets recalled.

Man, this bums me out.  I truly think Nate could be their best power hitter, and bat .270 or better with low K's and good BB's.  I don't know why they would give up on him this quickly.  Robbie Ray was K'ing EVERYBODY yesterday, so understandably, Nate didn't look Grate.

And he’s back. Called up this morning.

Hitting .257/.390/.424 with 3 HR’s and a 34:29 K:BB ratio in Durham is not anything to be real excited about.

Agreed.  Looks like he took the demotion poorly, as I don't recall his stats being bad at all when they called him up the first time.

This guy doesn't excite me either but....... maybe he should?

- Hits the ball very, very hard ✔️

- Has shown very good plate discipline in minors ✔️

- Has shown ability to hit for high average ✔️

- Can hit for power ✔️

- Plays in AL East ✔️

- Middle of the order bat on a very good team ✔️

I'm still very intrigued by Lowe.

It’s still possible he develops at the major league level. The talent is there. He started to heat up a little recently in the minors, but without the home runs, which is strange for him to be lacking power.

Is this is a planned short term stint with Garcia and Pham banged up?

Being a lefty is good as well.

He's got a spot to play regularly?

Who knows. I'm guessing the 1st thing that needs to happen is he needs to hit.

Besides that, a problem I see is that Choi's out of options so when he gets off the 10 day IL, they can't send him down. Releasing him probably wouldn't go over well either, since he's been their 1B basically all season. Maybe Wendle could be sent down? But his glove is so versatile, they might not even consider it.

Probably one of Lowe or Brosseau gets sent back down, whoever's doing worse at the time, or maybe both, when Choi and Brandon Lowe get back.

Lowe's a good spec pick up just in case though, if you have space. In his last game in AAA just before getting recalled he hit 3 HR w/ 5 RBI. In 28 games from June 3 to July 2 in AAA he was hitting at a .340/.462/.660 clip with 9 HRs, 26 RBI, 21 BB, and 30 Ks.

My gut tells me this guy will be a hitting machine the 2nd half. I think he'll force his way into the lineup.
