Players It’s Time to Old Yeller - 2019

Recommended Posts

There seems to be more than the usual amount of Ol' Yellers out there this year, and I seem to have an inordinate amount of them.

Beat me to it.  Surprised he was so far down the page.  It is all sad.

Vladdy Jr.

People drafted him in the 4th and 5th round and he hasn't produced fast enough for them.  Just look in his player thread, they will tell you.

Sorry Vladdy, I know you only just turned 20, but this isn't good enough.

Mr Klubot who's been utterly worthless even when he did pitch this year, and cost a bomb thinking we had another ace year.

Special mentions to Cain and particularly Odor too...(phew what a smell)

Adam Wainwright deserves a trip to the back woods.  He was great in his prime but that was so long ago

Guys like Vlad, Robles and Ramirez still possess immense upside.  They have have been inconsistent and disappointing but don't belong on this thread.  "Old yeller" implies a washed up / old / finished player with no hope for improvement.

IRL pujols needs to go.

Cant believe he is going to retire <.300 avg.

I guess he wants the counting stats, which is cool. But man is he a shell.

A fair number of these guys are still going to bounce back.  The ones I'm most concerned about are Cabrera (knee saps power, +/- IL time) and Votto (chronic back issues, skills detoriation).  Basically age + chronic injury is a bad combo I can take out to the pasture. Any poor performers who are healthy I'm still buying as long as there are no PT concerns.

Well Edwin Jackson comes to mind.  They had to use an opener for him and against Balimore and he still didn't pitch that great..ERA hovering over 10.

Edwin Jackson has had rabies his whole career.
