Marlins trade Gallen for Chisholm. Really like that deal. Gutsy but the right move, IMO

IMO it would've been more reasonable to ask for a guy like Luis Garcia who is more unproven but still highly regarded and with Kieboom/Turner in front of him becomes a little more expendable from the Nats standpoint.

Agreed. But by asking for someone the Nats absolutely wouldn't do (anyone with a brain would've known this), they turn the Nats off as trade partners IMO.

If a team calls me with a middle grade player like Greene and asks for Vlad Guerrero Jr, would you take them seriously? Or hang up the phone and move on to a team who has brains in their front office and you can actually deal with them in reality?

SEA GM gets it...bullpen arms mean next to nothing in a rebuild, deal em all

While I don't disagree with your premise, the GM is Jerry DiPoto, and he would trade the pair of shoes he was wearing for a newspaper just to get his fix.

Well to counter, Hurricane Dipoto has never seen an asset he can’t trade.

I really hope the Tigers stand pat. Then next year at the deadline, they can ask for guys like George Valera and be laughed at when they put Greene back on the market. Then they will end up staying put and getting nothing as he leaves through FA lol.

It's Gallen for Jazz Chisholm...

Chisholm strikes out a TON, I don't get this one.

Marlins have a ton of pitching. They need position player talent. Chisholm still has a very high upside. It's a gutsy move but a good one, IMO.

Interested to see the return. The Marlins do have a surplus of arms and a dire need for bats, so if they’re getting someone like Jazz Chisholm or Kristian Robinson it would make sense. But otherwise it’s a head scratcher.

ETA: It’s Chisholm. Makes sense for both sides IMO.

Nats announcers just said the Nationals have also acquired Hunter Strickland.

Who the @#$! is going to close out saves for Seattle? Oh wait, you have to be winning to get a save, nvm.

Good deal for both sides.  Marlins need a bat and Chisolm is Arizona's top prospect and #59 overall according to MLB Pipeline, while Arizona got a promising SP who has shown both in the minors and majors this year.  Both teams are dealing from a position of strength to fill a need.

Only because Adams is still on the IL.
