2019 MLB Trade Rumors and Deadline Thread

Recommended Posts

By the way, keep an eye on Josh Rojas in the Greinke deal. I'm hoping they call him up and give him everyday at bats. He's put up 20 homers and 32 steals between AA and AAA this year while hitting over .300 at both stops and maintaining solid bb (12%) and k (15%) rates. I think he'd be a good MI add in 12+ team leagues.

Yankees think Clint Frazier is the second coming. he sucks

Most definitely not the second coming but he does not suck. At least his bat doesn’t

Derek Fisher for Biagini, Sanchez and Cal Stevenson. Could be worse, but Atkins isn't impressing in trades. Another project quad A guy.

How about this..

The Mets will be 2020 World Series champions ...

If they fired their manager and "training" staff maybe.  It's not as crazy as it sounds.

That rotation could be dynamite.

DeGrom, Thor, Stroman, Wheeler etc... all 20 game winners

You mean 20 games combined, right?

Diamondbacks seem to have done pretty well with the last two major trades they’ve made. Weaver and Kelly have been very good so far and the haul from Houston looks good on paper at least.

Heck yeah, I'd agree. They are fortunate they moved on so quickly from that Dave Stewart disaster

I like what the Giants did today. Moved a bunch of replaceable relievers for solid prospects. The Scooter deal is awesome if he can get healthy.

The Rays acquire Jesus Aguilar... because they don't have enough 1B already?  I mean, they didn't give up much, but why?

Wheeler is a FA not that he is remotely good anyway.  And only deGrom is an ace and he won't win 20 games on that team ever.

It’s the Rays. He might be a starting pitcher or something before long...

The Scooter deal was a bit of a head scratcher.  Very smart on the Giants, but from the Reds side I have no idea what they were thinking.  Is it possible for a player to play for 2 different teams in the same day?  Giants play the Phillies in a couple of hours!

The Rays are notorious for doing those kinds of moves...and I actually like it.

They'll have the opportunity to swap out Nate Lowe / Aguilar at 1B/DH, it's not like Ji-Man Choi is the future.

I think Aguilar has a decent shot at returning to relevance there.

Not really sure why so many people are saying "Why did they add another 1B".....It's really only been Ji-Man Choi and Nate Lowe...Travis plays there every once in a while...

yandy diaz has 21 games at 1B too.. injured right now, but still, he was in the rotation at various times.

edit: not sure on his recovery time / expected return.

Travis has played there pretty often as of late.  And you don't screw up someone like Nate Lowe who could be your stud 1B for the next half decade plus by not letting him play every day.  Platooning is a cardinal sin against young, possible future stars.  It can ruin them.  So no, it was a really bad trade.
