So is my body. Ready for all of this.

what is everyone's thoughts? Brought back as part time player first game back from long layoff due to injury? Or, since he was out for a long tine to get to 100%, they run him full throttle?

I don't think he's really been hurt for a while.  This was essentially a paid hold out.  And, what a shock!  Now that the trade deadline is passed, he's "healthy" and already complaining about potentially being franchise tagged next season.  If he gets tagged, he promises he won't "hold out."  No, I'm sure he won't, but he might be "injured."

Oh come on, give it a rest. I’m sick of people making up false narratives about AJ faking injury in a “paid hold out.”

There isn’t one shred of evidence to support this, other than some idiot reporters’ original false timeline, which AJ refuted months ago.  He has always said he wanted to stay with the Bengals. Of course he didn’t rush back before he was 100%, why would he?  It’s a lost season... It was in both his interests AND the team’s interests to have him at 100% before he steps on the field... why would they want to give a new contract to an injured player? Perhaps they kept him off IR in the event that they started the season well, and his recovery was ahead of schedule.

“Complaining” about franchise tagged?  All he said is he would like a new deal instead of being franchised... just like every other player in the NFL.

This is the only part that gets me in the whole thing.  If the original estimated timeline was off, and this was ruled a 10-16 week recovery, then the Bengals front office are incompetent fools for not placing him on IR.  If the original estimated injury timeline (4-6 weeks) was correct, then essentially we're saying a) A.J. is an extremely slow healer (bad for him) or b) this was a paid hold-out.

And if the Bengals are saying, why play him and risk injuring him in a lost season?  Then why not sit him for the entire season then.  Let's take this sham the whole nine yards.

Looks like they’ve placed 4 players on IR so far this season.    I’m not seeing if any have been designated to return,  but each team only gets 2 players who can return off of IR in the same season.

Pathetic organizations tend to stay pathetic for a reason. I doubt the Bengals didn't know this before now. Green just realized how dumb they are that he decided that going public is the best choice.

WR is one of the least important foundational pieces for a team. QB, all of the offensive linemen, an elite safety, and an elite pass rusher are all more important than an elite WR. You can also make cases for CB, MLB, and others. Basically, if you are trying to become relevant WR is the least of your concern. Thus, paying Green is a dumb move. Knowing he wants to get paid WHY DID YOU MORONS NOT TRADE HIM?

Bengals and Redskins in a pissing match of who is more pathetically run.

We gonna pretend he's not just a WR3 right now given the current situation?

Personally I'd put him higher than that. Especially with week 10 being a big bye week. No way I'd be able to find 24 WRs I'd start over him.

We've seen plenty of superstar WRs over the years produce with some pretty bad QBs.

Anyone know what his Yahoo "status" will be this week? I'm guessing it stays at "Q" rather than "O" since they are on a bye and I don't think have to hand in an injury report.

100% it will stay "Q", that's been the case for everyone who has a remote chance of playing after the bye.

Source: Tevin Coleman, Alvin Kamara, Marquise Brown, etc...

I've never been a fan, at all. But that said, I know AJ is a WR1 with Dalton. Could he be better with a rookie QB? Possibly. But that rookie QB could also be a heck of a lot worse than Dalton, and that's a very real concern.

Finley generally played well in the preseason and put up some good yardage in a couple of the games.  It will likely take Finley a couple of games to get acclimated but there shouldn't be that much of a dropoff from Dalton.

I’m rolling with Green at flex and hopeful I can keep him there through the playoffs.

My WR3 situation has been so trash and getting only 5 or so points a game.  I'm sure Green can at least beat that.

I read somewhere he is limited.  I'm now scrambling trying to find a decent flex fill in for him

The rookie has arm talent, not a rocket arm but good placement. He also likes to lock in on a WR. So, here's the rub. He locks on to AJ and AJ goes off, or the QB gets 4 picks. The Baltimore D is not elite anymore but it's still good. What a mess. All I can say for sure is that he's stashed for the playoff run for me and I hope for a good game this week. Good luck to all AJ owners whatever you do this week. Your'e gonna have to go into the Matrix and find the Oracle to figure out sit/start this week. :)

The film I watched on Finley he seemed to look and throw to the left side of the field 90% of the time
