NBA summer 2019 offseason thread

Kyrie is happy to be paired with KD and DAJ, because KD will do all the work so Kyrie can slowly drag his lazy derriere up the court, and DAJ will make Kyrie look mature by comparison. That team might end up being a mess - at least before KD is back.

Not sure what to think about the KD signing. First of all, the Nets are an easy 2nd round exit next season. Kyrie is on a worse roster than he had with the C's last season (KD will be out all season). DAJ is fading, his defense is not the same, and he contributes nothing on offense except for putbacks and easy dunks. He might be toasted by the time KD gets back 2 seasons from now. Then we get to KD, who is coming off one of the worst injuries an athlete can have while playing. It would be somewhat of a medical miracle if he comes back and is the same guy. Let's all all of that above works out for BKN. Now, they all have to play together. KD is coming from the most unselfish team in basketball. Now he's going to play with another score first, ISO-mentality PG in Kyrie (anyone remember Westbrook?). How is he going to transition back to that kind of ball which didn't work for him in OKC? Just seems like the perfect situation to fail IMO. It could all come together but it seems much more likely to fail.

Why would they sign DAJ w/ Allen on the team? DAJ's worth on the court has taken a nose dive in the last few seasons. Outside of rebounds, he doesn't block shots, his defense is average (at best) and his offensive game is even worse than it was with the Clippers. Are we sure Brooklyn is a playoff team next season?

As for the Knicks, what a shame. Another year of disappointment. It's going to be tough for a guy with the ego as James Dolan to swallow this pill, again. It's you, bro.

Levert will go absolutely ballistic with KD sitting out, then score a max contract elsewhere as a free agent next year.

I'm just smiling from ear to ear at the Knicks. What an laughably pathetic franchise.

The Nets repeats it's history. They don't have money to retain their young players a few years later.

KD: Out at least 1 year. So 164 Mil for 2.5-3yr. Look at the performance of DMC and Kobe after torn achilles and their subsequent injuries.

KI: Another opt injured, disgruntled player.

I could see the long game with Kyrie and Durant.  I don't love Kyrie but as a second option he's proven to be great.  But DeAndre?  Wtf?

Irving will be great in fantasy as long as he plays next year, though- which I don't trust.  Big winner is Levert.

Hornets will be very bad next year. Some fantasy gold could be found on that roster in later rounds

Pacers also added Jeremy Lamb on a 3 yr deal. Very nice pickups by them. If Oladipo can come back healthy and turner and sabonis continue to progress, the Pacers will be looking very formidable.

wow

Richardson is a way better fit on the 6ers than Jimmy was anyway. Perfect spot for him. And Jimmy gets to be the guy in Miami so it's a win win in my book.

That bum Dragic is headed to Dallas and the Heat are going after Bradley Beal too. Doing damage without a cap. This feels like a dream.

What am I saying. Pat Riley is a don.
