Holland pulled from save opportunity and Lopez converts...after I had cut bait on him earlier today. Extreme anger.

Next man up?

Lovullo said postgame that Holland was still the closer. Yanked him because "he didn't like the way the ball was coming out of his hand". I guess I take him at his word, but I would also assume that the leash Holland had built back up with a few clean outings in a row is probably gone and he is very vulnerable again. I thought Lopez was next in line since he had been moved into the eighth inning role. I dumped him because he had gotten pounded in two of his last three outings, and felt vindicated when they went with long lost Archie Bradley in the eighth, but then Lopez ended up getting the call after the quick hook in the ninth -- Holland walked the first two and that was it, and apparently left pissed because he thought he was squeezed. So at this point. Lopez probably back to next in line, with Hirano still lurking and Bradley maybe now in the mix. The whole thing had me rattled.

I know this thread is primarily for complaining and speculation, but shout out to Sean Doolittle for recording 2 saves in the same day. This dude loves playing in the rain!

Quick shout out to whoever it was that let this board know Hansel takes the mound to the Undertaker theme song. After hearing that I scooped him in all leagues. Not that I'm a fan of that stuff, just thought that was cool. Reminded me of Mo...

Probably just a DTD situation, right?

(Insert Mets medical staff joke here.)

How does he not get the save? Just looking at the box score

I would like to think Gallegos, and they’d keep Miller situational. Gallegos often goes more than one inning to though, so I think they’d prefer to keep him flexible too, which is why Martinez is in there. But, Martinez did close it out today, so he’s got some more leash.

I believe it’s because it was a three run lead, and Miller got the first out of the inning. I think 2/3 of an inning with a three run lead and no one on is a non-save spot.

Maybe they can trade away 3 prospects for Hansel Robles....
