Darwin Thompson 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

I’m not even entirely sure this pans out but I’ve dropped kickers or other end of bench guys to see what happens this week. I can’t miss out on this hype train.

I own Williams and McCoy, so now I had to drop Chris Thompson to pick up Darwin Thompson just in case. So I now own 3 guys in a backfield that hasn't done jack s--- this year because they aren't efficient at all and they have a top notch QB who puts it up 35 time a game and can throw to the water boy and score.

Are we sure Darwin is in front of Darrell Williams?

Nope. But embrace the hype train anyway.

Either Damien Williams or LeSean McCoy has been the Chiefs’ featured back on 119 of 129 plays this season, or 92 percent. Neither was participating in the early portion of practice on Wednesday because of injuries. Darrel Williams and rookie Darwin Thompson, who between them have 10 plays this season, would be in line to get the work on Sunday against the Ravens. Thompson, a sixth-round draft pick, was impressive in training camp and the preseason and looked like he would get a portion of the work in the regular season until the Chiefs signed McCoy. Coach Andy Reid said he wants to make sure Thompson knows his assignments as a pass blocker before he gets a lot of playing time. “As long as I feel like he knows what he’s doing, I’m good with it,’’ Reid said. “He’ll stick it up in there and hit you. It’s just a matter of seeing it. He’s young so he hasn’t seen everything there is to see. He’s getting there. I feel comfortable with him in there.’’

I think a lot of people left to go check their rosters for expendable players.

Is that from his official scouting report or just a casual observation?

He doesn't watch football, it was pretty clear from him touting Nelson Agholor into October of last season. Doesn't matter anyway. Oooh, Darrel Williams sucks? Nice! Now Darwin is only the backup to 1 other backup!

Not starting, because he clearly needs to add more muscle.
