Griffin Conine -OF- TOR

Recommended Posts

Surprising lack of chatter on this kid. Could be the another in the exciting MLB heritage line from TOR, checks in at 6'1" 200 lbs and swings it lefty.

From Pipeline:

The son of Jeff Conine, a two-time All-Star who won two World Series in a 17-year big league career, Griffin erupted to hit a circuit-best nine homers in the Cape Cod League and then added 18 more as a Duke junior in 2018, albeit while hitting for less than average. Conine's power transferred immediately in his pro debut, as he homered seven times in 57 games in the Class A Short Season Northwest League after signing with Toronto for $1.35 million as the club's second-round pick. However, Conine's development will be on hold for the first 50 games of 2019 after he tested positive in November for Ritalin.

Took a bit to find his footing after the late start, but he's been awfully good lately (albeit with some K issues)...but it is huge raw power and plenty serviceable hit tool

Up to a .291/.366/.599 on the season with 19 HRs in 237 ABs for single A Lansing of the Midwest league...prob could get on the fast track soon, being he just turned 22 yrs old.

I was literally just searching for info on him.  I’m in a dynasty league and drafted him in February. Not much info on him, but having a pretty good stats year (yes. With K Issues.  But is that even as big of a deal as it was even 5-10 years ago?).

Thanks for posting!
