Allen Lazard 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Really depends on the status of Adams and Allison. If both are out, I don't mind Lazard this week.

Big, looks the part, has Rodgers trust, MVS and Allison seem to be missing something.

As someone else mentioned, he is Jordy's Adams.

watching the game really made me like this guy he was being very physical after every catch fighting for more yardage playing with heart and if Arod is happy with him then I'm happy! definitely picked him up in my leagues especially if your hurting at WR.

who's to say he wont be the wr2 going forward even if D.Adams returns.

One good quarter is not enough to supplant MVS and Allison.

Rodgers has now gone 16 straight games without throwing for more than 2 TDs. (The last was 10/7/18).

GB has a defense and a run game now. This team is Jones/Williams and Adams with MVS, Allison, Lazard, Graham, etc fighting for scraps.

You’re talking real life. I’m taking fantasy production wise he’s only ever had 1 favorite target every year while the second receiver could be anyone on a weekly basis. He had driver, then Jennings, then Nelson, and now Adams. Yeah the yardage are great for real life but his touchdowns could go to his number 1 or anyone which matters most in fantasy. There’s no consistency to the number 2s or 3s wrs in TD production when it comes to a Rodgers led team besides when he had Driver and Jennings

2008: WR4 and WR23

2009: WR18 and WR21

2010: WR4 and WR44

2011: WR2 and WR18

2012: WR16, WR17, and WR30

2013: WR11 and WR41

2014: WR2 and WR6

2015: WR27 and WR31

2016: WR1 and WR7

2017: WR13 and WR42

2018: WR5 and no one else in the top 50

Driver and Jennings

Jennings and Nelson

Nelson and Cobb

Nelson, Cobb and Adams (James Jones also sprinkled in from year to year)

Nelson and Adams

Adams and Cobb (though Cobb was bad at that point)

Adams and ???

Historically the Packers have had two fantasy relevant WRs under Rodgers up until Adams became the #1 because they simply haven't had any WR talent behind him. I have no idea if Lazard will be any good but in 6 of Rodgers seasons he has had two receivers finish as top 24 options. The Packers not having a #2 receiver who is fantasy relevant is a recent phenomena pretty much limited to when Adams has been the #1 or when Rodgers has been injured.

To be fair Adams is probably the best WR he's ever played with.

What have MVS and Allison done to secure their positions?  Both are also unproven, continuously underperform, and can’t stay on the field.

So if Adams, Valdez-Scantling, Allison, and Jimmy Graham don't play...

Is this guy a WR1?

No, the uncertainty would make him a WR2 at best, but if MVS is out he's definitely a 'should start' imo. Oakland has a trash secondary and Rodgers clearly likes him. If MVS plays he's a risk/reward WR3. I'm trying to find a way to keep him and start him over my crappy flexes with low ceilings.

Maybe? I'd still take Jordy over him pretty easily.

Just curious, but what tells us that Rodgers likes him?  Not sure if one quarter of action is telling.

Rodgers was the one that wanted him in the game and his postgame interview. Aside from that if Adams and Allison can't go, he'll get looks.

I think he is a no brainer play if Adams and Allison is out and they say he is starting. That's also assuming you have limited options this week, like somebody posting this.

Uhh yeah 70 yards and a td is super likely against the crap Oakland secondary. Allison and Adams are for sure not playing, making this guy a fixture in 2 wr sets. I appreciate guys showing up in the clutch and he did.  No Brainer start this week

I’m rolling with him over, Josh flash in the pan Gordon, Mecole Hardman, Hollywood Brown, Deshaun Jackson, and DeDe. I really need Allen to sho some more of what we saw Monday. Currently I have Sutton and need another stud.
