The same AJG who has accumulated 8213 yards in 7 seasons, averaging 1174 per season? The AJG who has scored 57 TDs, averaging 8 TDs per season? The AJG who's played 102 of 112 games in seven years? The guy who's now going at an all-time low of mid-to-late Round 2? The monster talent who refuses to be tackled, and the perennial focal point of the Bengals/Dalton netting 31 games of 100+ yards? Or a different AJG?

im'ma step in for Cleats ... pardon - 410 total touches last year between Murray/Henry ... to get to the 460 DHC cited, we only need a scant three more touches per. with this new staff, who seem to not have their heads up their collective poop chute, this number (460) seems readily attainable: Henry - 250 carries (15 and change per), 25 receptions. Dion - 130 carries (roughly 8 per), 55 receptions. rudimentary, but it hits the number - all subject to change once the ouchies start to set in - but, in a perfect world where both were healthy for the full slate, there ya go.

I know this player isn't back in Oakland yet, but you have to check out what he is doing in AAA since right after he was sent down. Since August 4th, Fowler is hitting .523, has a 7 game 2+ hit streak, and now has an overall AAA mark of .375 average, .399 OBP, and OPS of .962. All with a K rate around 16%, which is outstanding. Only drawback is his power is down. He hit 6 homers for Oakland this year, but has only hit 3 in AAA in similar at bat numbers, telling me Fowler is adjusting to more of a contact approach and less of a power approach, but I personally think the power decrease will be temporary and I still see him as someone who will eventually hit you 15+ homers in the majors while stealing 20-30, with what likely will be a very high average. I can't wait to see this kid in Oakland full time, but given how well Oakland is playing they may opt to just keep things as is for now. However, dynasty leaguers do take note.

The offensive scheme/playcalling was clearly terrible in Tennessee last year. People say the Titans have one of the best offensive lines in football, and I don't know enough about offensive line play to dispute that, but I think it's telling that DeMarco Murray's YPC was significantly lower than Henry's last year despite more consistent playing time/touches. Murray was the 1A in Tennessee, and he showed his toughness battling through injuries the way he did, but the coaching staff made a mistake by refusing to give more touches to the younger, stronger, healthier Henry. When Henry got double digit carries, he produced far more consistently than Murray did: Murray: total games with 10+ carries - 11 Games with > 4.0 YPC - 3 Games with < 4.0 YPC - 8 (all 8 of these games were sub-3.7 YPC, and 7 of them were 3.3 YPC or less) Henry: total games with 10+ carries - 10 Games with > 4.0 YPC - 7 (and 5 of these games were 6.1+ YPC) Games with < 4.0 YPC - 3 I guess my point is that the book on Henry is far from closed. We still haven't seen what he can do with consistent double digit carries over the course of a season, but if last year was any indication he will do well. He doesn't need to get 20 carries a game to put up strong RB2 or even low-end RB1 numbers. I think even 15 per game (240 over the course of a 16 game season) would put him in RB1 territory. The change to a zone blocking scheme will help Henry. The defense should be better which will keep the Titans in games and lead to more positive game scripts. The addition of Lewis should help the offense move the chains and score points, which ultimately helps Henry from an efficiency standpoint. Lewis can get ~10 carries per game (plus whatever in the passing game) and while that will limit Henry's upside, most RBs share touches in a 60/40 ratio and MANY of them still end up putting up great fantasy seasons.

Someone needs to tell Vladdy to stop hitting the ball so hard, so that his BABIP can come down enough to convince armchair statisticians that he's better than average
  12. 4 points
No you shouldn’t. People are overthinking this. Plug him in at catcher and hope he goes on a September heater. Can worry about dynasty and keeper values at 3b next March.

You have dug yourself quite the hole regarding Chad Kelly. If he doesn't do anything stupid off the field, he has the potential to be a very good starter in this league. Unlike Lynch who is just collecting paychecks, this guy can actually read D's.

If you believe Lewis will get ~15 carries per game and be the 1A, and Henry will get ~10 carries per game and be the 1B, then obviously fade Henry and draft Lewis at his cheaper ADP. You should also maybe take that conversation over to the Dion Lewis thread and start talking him up over there, in ya know...his thread. Seems like no one wants to talk about Dion Lewis for the sake of talking about Dion Lewis, they only want to talk about Dion Lewis as the crusher of Cleats' hopes and dreams. I understand Lewis is a good runner between the tackles and is not purely a scat back PPR machine like Danny Woodhead. But what path does he have to being a 3-down back? If Lewis is the preferred no-huddle, hurry-up, passing down back (which I agree he 100% is), don't the Titans want to make sure he's fresh for those situations? I'm not saying he won't get some entire series to himself, and won't get any 1st and 2nd down carries, but if he's taking lots of 1st and 2nd down carries you're going to run into situations where he isn't as fresh as you'd want him for a key 3rd down or 2 minute drill. It just makes far more sense for Henry to receive more of the carries on early downs and in clock-killing mode, and Lewis to handle the majority of the other situations. It's what they are each best suited for in the context of the Tennessee Titans winning games, not simply their physical appearances. This team has two weapons at the RB position, and they each have strengths that will (hopefully) be maximized and weaknesses that will (hopefully) be minimized by the coaching staff. That's how we are arriving at the carry/touch distributions.

Just to stir the pot. Demarco Murray on one leg averaged 3.6 yds per carry as the starting RB last year. Henry averaged 3.3 yds per carry in his 3 starts.

Dame is the sexier name, but Dipo will be the better player. That's just me though. I always think Dame is an all points guy but he always proves me wrong by leading a winning team LOL. Either way, I do think Dipo's steals and better pct's put him above Lillard. I just don't like low FG pct guys. Jokic though is another level. I think he has a good chance to break into the low 20's in scoring this year with a slight improvement in FG percentage. Dude is just 23 years old.

I know you specifically mentioned any option BUT Sunday Ticket.....but are you aware of the deal for college kids? https://nflst.directv.com/student Only $100 for the season and includes redzone. Here is the great/creepy part.....if you just google some division 3 women's basketball team you can find a name and bday that you can select to "verify eligibility". You can then enter your email address and use your own CC to sign up.

Jokic for sure all day. But Dame over Dipo...I'm not sure. Do you like Dame's elite points, ft, and 3's better...I think I like Dipo more than doubling him up in steals and blocks while still being really close in points and 3's, with better FG.

Yes only 6 Ks in 8 Inn not what we are used to but he seems to be focusing on throwing strikes and going deeper in games as he has consistently gone deep the last 5 or so starts. My guess would be when he puts it all together next year we will get both Ks and efficiency.
  36. 2 points
I don't necessarily disagree, but the guy is going into his third year in the offense and he has been a very productive fantasy asset with his role. Watkins is still cruising off of his 6 game stretch a few years ago; I will need to see it to believe it with him although I don't doubt his talent.

I understand what he's doing...I think. He's putting Mondesi's speed at the bottom of the order to flip the lineup. He and Merrifield make a pretty potent tandem from a speed perspective. But in putting him at the bottom, he's also keeping the pressure off a young hitter who hasn't found much success at the MLB level until this season. It's not like the Royals are going anywhere this year, so why not put Mondesi at the bottom, keep the pressure low, and let him find his way at the highest level. Aside from that, his walk rate is horrible, and his K rate is just as bad. He's a speed/top-of-the-order type of guy, and he's on a 150-game pace to walk 12 times and strike out 146 times. Imho, that's not No1 or No2 hitter material. His OBP is .295, and I don't think that belongs at the top. And that BA is going to come down. It's a solid .279 right now, but his BABIP is currently .364...I don't think he keeps it that high. His minor league BABIP is all over the place, but it's only been above .331 three times (including with KC this season) with more than 100 PAs. The tools are enticing. I believe he's a 15 HR, 40 SB guy if he gets 550 AB next year, but he simply isn't getting on base enough to justify putting him at the top of the order. And if you're not going to put him at the top, then I think his speed plays better at the bottom because he can flip the lineup and have Merrifield come up behind him. Personally, I believe Mondesi is hitting right where he belongs, for both him and the Royals. Jmho :). And I'm a Mondesi owner who loves his fantasy potential.

Should we care much about his BABIP at this point? For nearly everyone, Ward is just someone you plug in at catcher in place of whatever garbage you currently have there, and you hope for the best.
