  1. As usual, it was a crazy Week 1 in the NFL. Lots of overreactions and suprises, but two key takeaway from a fantasy perspective was the monster debut from rookie WRs (and Hockenson) and that QB play is deep and can be very much streamable week in-and-out. Here is my list of pickups for next week and moving forward. Most players will have ownership of less than 40%. For reference, I play in standard 0.5 PPR leagues on Yahoo with flex and 6 bench slots. QB Matthew Stafford - Only 26% owned in Yahoo leagues, Stafford is coming off a monster game with almost 400 yards passing and 3 TDs.

  2. Alright - I've been one of the primary needlers on the pro-Williams crowd but I think we should all try to be reasonable here. DWill owners should concede the following - 1. Shady is not washed up, and those arguments were wrong. 2. He looks like he will be getting a bigger share of the offense at this moment in time, as warranted by his play on Sunday. 3. As long as Shady is healthy, DWill's value takes a big hit vs. what you expected before they got Shady. Shady owners should concede the following - 1. DWill is not out of the picture yet after 1 game. 2

  3. 85 total yards, 17 carries, 3 catches, in a game in which the team looked absolutely terrible, and people are complaining? There must be a lot of first-time fantasy owners on Chubb this season. The guy got vultured at the goal line. It happens. Deal with it and move on.

  5. Williams looks like he'll be a nice complement to McCoy.

  6. Still very disappointing that we can't talk FAAB in this thread... It's a thread about picking people up that's allowed outside of the bench coach forum but for some reason we can't talk about FAAB in here. Kills FAAB discussion on Roto Forums by keeping it off the main forum. My two cents....

  7. Do you play in a league where people have no idea what’s going on?

  8. The Chiefs are playing the long term game this season. My guess is this is gonna be a timeshare all year unless one gets hurt. McCoy (still) looks like probably the more talented back, but he’s also got a lot more miles on him, and has had trouble staying healthy the past few seasons. Reid will likely understand that what’s best for the team is to have him somewhat fresh down the stretch, and that means using multiple backs. Perhaps he’s better as a 10-carry guy at this stage in his career anyway? Reid has also shown trust in Williams (who hasn’t done anything wrong), and he appears

  10. Obligatory: if you don't value a guy high enough for your waiver, it never hurts to sit back and wait for FA to scoop up reactionary drops the first couple weeks.

  11. But how is he going to surpass 500 yards? Only a few rookie TEs have every done it! The odds are stacked against him!

  12. There's a chance these posts get deleted but I urge the mods to consider it. I think the community would view it as a net positive for the weekly thread. At the very least, a specific FAAB thread on the main forum would be great for discussion. We all know the bench coach forum doesn't generate as much conversation as the main forum. Thanks.

  13. As expected. Winston has always loved Brate more. And Arians doesn't use his TEs. Why people were drooling over Howard instead of a proven stud like Engram is beyond me.

  14. After seeing the results of the first week, no matter which RB you own (McCoy or Williams) things worked out, and if I had to guess both will play an important role going forward. Calling one better than the other after one week is really stupid.

  17. Yup folks are tripping out for no reason, Pats could easily avg. 40 points a game if they wanted to with this squad. Having Josh as your WR3 is money in the bank, shorty what you drank.

  19. This thread is a prime example why the forum is the worst thing after week 1. There's threads like the Montgomery and Gurley ones where there's week one overreaction but at least you can understand it with the coach and the knee. However, the dude got 90% of the RB touches and still got 20 total touches in a game that the Browns struggled on offense and people are still going to complain? I swear people will b**** about literally anything after week 1.

  20. The other thing to consider is that, in most competitive leagues, his 98 total yards on 9 touches is only good for 5 points because of his s---y bench press and 40 time . . .

  21. Even if youre not playing FAAB I think it still helps as just a relative way to gauge players value and help decide if a player is worth a #1,2,3 waiver or whatever

  22. Never. He never came off the field. Bell played 66 of 66 snaps today.

  23. Well let's do some math. Lamar Jackson snap count = 54 Marquise Brown snap count = 14 54 / 14 = 3.857 Marquise Brown stats = 4/147/2 (receptions/yards/tds) So if I am projecting correctly, we should be expecting around: 4 * 3.857 = 15.43 receptions per game 147 * 3.857 = 567.98 yards per game 2 * 3.857 = 7.71 tds per game Seems like a #1 waiver to me! 🤣

  24. Whats the point of even reading fantasy football forums if your position is that you can find superior information elsewhere - by reading the “pros”? 99% of the discussions here are about player value. That’s the only unique information produced on these forums. Personally, I don’t care whether a person is a professional fantasy football writer or an unemployed couch potato. Good analysis is good analysis is good analysis.

  25. 19 attempts -- fantastic to see. Haters said the Titans suck and he'd be game scripted out. That's a good team they just put a whuppin' on, on the road. Their style travels well. I don't see a blow-out on their schedule. The biggest thing for Henry this year is getting that volume that the coaches and GM said he was gonna get, and so those 19 attempts were great. 84 yards = 4.4 YPC. Not bad with all pro LT gone, and on the road vs an elite DL. 2 targets -- on pace to smash his career high of 18 👀😂 Doubters btfo. Henry draws Colts at home next week who just got railed

  26. Let's not overreact too much to them losing Foles now. He's not exactly Joe Montana, and we can all remember just a few months back how unexcited we were when we heard they signed him in the first place. He's a mediocre QB. Minshew is a rookie with very low expectations, yes. But he does have his pluses. His timing and accuracy are both above average. Below average arm strength but this can be compensated for with pinpoint accuracy and confident, non hesitant throws. He seemed calm and poised for this being his very first real NFL action. His first two NFL drives resulted in FGs. He also

  28. Did we all watch the same game last night? Gordon looked big and fast, and still made plays despite at times being double or even triple covered by the Steelers defense much of the evening. I look forward to AB's arrival - I have a suspicion Gordon won't be seeing too much double or triple coverage playing opposite AB.

  34. This is one of the biggest overreactions I’ve ever seen. They blew up in the 4th quarter against THE LIONS. The lions were playing a shell defense and they paid mightily for it. Better sell high on every piece of Arizona offense that you have, because there will be many full games that look just like the first 3 quarters.

  35. It wasn’t garbage time.... they rallied back from a big deficit, sent it to OT, and got a tie instead of a loss. And DJ was a big part of that

  36. I agree. I posted something and it was removed quite quickly. FAAB is the new standard. It’s very helpful if we could discuss %’s for FAAB to gauge market value for these players.

  38. It took five minutes into the first Sunday of the season. Auction league. My opponent week 1 spends nearly everything he has on Saquon and AB and has almost nothing left. He ends up with Dissly at TE, and with a bench of Nyheim Hines, Dallas Goedert, Gus Edwards, and one decent player. Then AB does his trick. I'm laughing all the way to the bank. He has to drop AB and bring on his one decent bench player. Sammy Watkins.

  40. Ill be looking for you in here next week... McCoy looked like a stud today.. had he known more of the playbook im sure his touches would have went up... By week 3 ( unless Shady goes south) , shady will be geting more touches... D Williams did not run well.. his receptions were just fine; however, keep in mind Shady doesnt know the playbook and therefor most likely wasnt involved in any plays required RPO or designed passes. Could be a fluke, but the eye test pointed HARD to shady..

  41. Williams owners better sell while they can, because shady is going to take the job sooner than later. Looked way better than Damien, unsurprisingly, and will be playing more snaps next week.
