  1. Hello everyone, I have created a 16-team league that will be ran on Fantrax. Payments will be made on Leaguesafe. Once the league fills, everyone will need to pay within 48 hours of the league filling. That means if the league fills, I will email everyone and expect to pay within the time period. If you do not plan on having the full buy-in in this time frame, this is not the league for you. Teams are responsible for paying for the current season and the following season. This process will take place every year. You will be required to pay for the following season in January of each year. For instance, in 2019 you will pay the $400 entry fee. This covers the 2019 season as well as 2020. In Jan 2020, you would be paying for the 2021 season and so on. In my opinion this is the only way to keep dynasty leagues together and keeps guys from jumping in the league only to play for a year or two.. and going all out to win. The league will be a 7x7 Hitting: R, HR, RBI, AVG, SB, TB, OPS.. Pitching: W, QS, ERA, WHIP, SV, HLD, K.. you will win one point per category. MLB draft will take place Friday, March 22rd at 7:00pm CST.. With this being a 30-round draft this WILL take a while. If you are not prepared for a long draft, this is probably not for you. I will set the timer for the first 5 rounds to 1 minute. Rounds 6-10 will be 45 seconds and rounds after that will be 30 seconds. So be prepared and pick out players while your league mates are picking. Trades will not be allowed in the initial draft. Initial draft will be randomized by Fantrax. Hopefully we can do this as soon as the league forms and everyone pays (not sure if we can) if not, I can do a “go live” through facebook or something. The minors draft order will be reverse of the MLB draft and will be a slow draft on the fantrax message board. Players are eligible to be drafted in the MLB draft IF they have 1 MLB plate appearance and/or 1 appearance as a pitcher. All others will be eligible to be drafted as a minor. Our league will have a 30 man MLB roster and 40 man MiLB roster.. The C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, MI, CI, OF, OF, OF, OF, UTIL SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, P (9 bench slots) The league will be ran off of contracts of 6 yrs and will also have a salary cap of $100.. The following salaries will be applied: 1st-2nd round picks: $7 each 3rd-4th round picks: $5 each 6th-9th round picks: $4 each 10th-12th round picks: $3 each 13th-16th round picks: $2 each 16+ $1 each After the draft each team must submit/post the players and how many years they are allocating for each player. This will be done through the Fantrax message board. Each team will post a thread and I will go in and edit the contract years and salaries. *When Minors are called up, they will be assigned a $1 contract. Once called up, Minors will have 7 years of control. The Minor will be on a $1 contract for the first 4 years and then go into arbitration the final three years. For example Vlad Jr’s contract will be $1 for the first 4 years and then increase through arbitration in Year 5 ($2), Year 6 ($4), Year 7 ($7).. Only the first four years are guaranteed, meaning if you cut a player after calling him up, you will be on the hook for $4. Each year we will have a 5 round rookie draft. This includes J2 and amateur draftees. This draft will take place in June shortly after the amateur draft has ended. For example, the 2018 J2 signees will be In the same draft as the 2019 amateur draftees. Free agency will be FAAB based, once a week (most likely Sunday night). If a free agent is won, the winning team must specify the years the team is signing the player to the contract. Free agents won in FAAB will have a $1 salary. In the off-season of each year we will have a free agency process that is not ran based off of FAAB. This will most likely take place on Fantrax message board unless the league decides to do it on an internet forum or message board. You will bid using the available cap you have left in your budget. Minors won will not count toward the team’s salary cap and only towards the Faab budget. The Prize Pool will be as follows (16*200) = $3200 – fantrax premium league fee (I think it’s $75). Best Record - $500 Total Roto Leader - $500 1st place - $1000 2nd place - $750 3rd place- $375 Co-owners are allowed. The league will be made up of two 8 team divisions. 6 teams will make the playoffs each season, with the top team in each division receiving a bye. The remaining 4 slots will come from teams that have the best record regardless of division. You will pick an MLB team name and will be placed in either the NL or AL. First come, first serve. I’m sure I’m missing a few things but this will get the league up and going.. Please let me know if you have questions and more to come. Look forward to a great year! 4. Luis Rengifo has been going HAM too. Batting .345 in AA with a insane .449OBP through 30 games. He's only struck out 13 times. And has stolen 11 bases. Total stat line between HiA and AA is just ridiculous .332/.438/.498 66R, 4HR, 33SB 21 years young.. He's going to be a top 100 prospect by years end, IMO.
  5. Still no one talking about this guy? 18HRs with a .413OBP.. Sounds like he's going to stay on the dirt.. I give him some slack about being 22 in HiA because he played at Xavier.. A promotion to AA has to be coming soon... He plays in the Cal league but Rancho is pretty neutral hitting environment..
  6. Damn, didn't know he homered tonight! What a monster.
  7. Just ridiculous, thanks for sharing! It's early, but damn this kids bat may trump Tuckers. It's a 1B vs OF argument though so that's tough to evaluate.. What he's done at 20 years old in AA vs what Tucker did at 20 in AA... Alvarez ABs: 134, HRs: 9, RBI: 36, SB: 5, .328/.387/.597 Tucker ABs: 287, HRs: 16, RBI:47, SB: 8, .265/.325/.512 Tucker has double the ABs, so obviously it's not a completely fair comparison.. but it's still fun to look at and dream on.
  8. Astros got this kid for Josh Fields
  9. Rotowire has him as the #17 fantasy prospect. Which I would tend to agree with... the potential here is tremendous.. 60 hit tool with the potential of 70 grade power? 70 grade power may be a little strong but this guy is a BEAST and still just 20 years old (turns 21 in a week). There's 30+ HR power in here from what I've read and seen so far.
  10. Has anyone mentioned Jonathan Hernandez? 21yrs old in HiA.. SwStr% of 17 and has struck out 9+ in in 5/6 starts and has double digit Ks in his last 3 starts.. Now this is a guy I'm running out to get if he's not owned in your league.. (Deeper leagues) Was in the futures game last year.. I'm super high on this kid.
  11. Rylan Bannon, 3B LAD - Disclaimer: He's 22 in HiA and is playing in the Cal League I'm not surprised they have him in HiA because the competition at Xavier isn't the best.. He's striking out a little more than I like, but he's also walking quite a bit too.. Now, he was an 8th rounder out of Xavier last year and is in the Rotowire Top 400 fantasy prospects... I believe he's top 200 on that list, if memory serves. He's hit 23 bombs in 93 games between last year and this year, showing a pretty dang good OBP% to boot. 29XBH through 53 games so far this year.. Have not seen any scouting reports, I'm purely posting this guy from finding him on the Rotowire Top 400 and liking his stat line. Keep him on your watch list.
  12. BA put a 70 on his control.. I've hardly ever seen that.
  13. .475 BABIP, only a 4.6% BB Rate and K Rate of 24%.. most likely Org depth, very few make it with that kind of BB Rate.
  14. Luis Rengifo - SS LAA 21 year old SS that was recently promoted to AA (first good sign - 21 at AA). Hit .323 with an .892 OPS in A+ with a 14.2% BB rate and a 11.6% K Rate.. Stole 22 bases in 41 games. Doesn't seem like he's going to be star material, but it looks like he's got a great plate approach, some above average speed and a little bit of pop. This is definitely a guy I added in my 800+ prospect league. Maybe not a guy you add in shallow leagues and just follow, but any time I see a young guy like this with an above average plate approach I get excited.
  15. Tyler Phillips, SP TEX He's 5th in all of Minor League baseball with a 17.7% Swinging Strike rate.. The questions about his control/command? 5 walks in 44IP.. 9.41 K/9 and a 1.02 BB/9.. He's a 20yr old in class A, but it seems like this dude has wicked stuff that the Rangers may have figured out how to start harnessing it. He has a 2.40 FIP.. I think he's pretty far off the radar, but in super deep leagues I think he's probably worth an add. Pitch grades: FB - 60, CB- 55, CH- 60.. so the potential is there!
  16. This one will be interesting to watch.. Yuli Gurriel is locked in until after the 2020 season. Marwin Gonzalez is a FA after this year so it'll be interesting to see if Yuli switches to that utility role if the Astros don't re-sign Marwin.. If they don't resign Marwin, then yes, this kid has a fantastic chance to play a bunch next year IMO. As an Astros fan I'm just as excited about Yordan Alvarez as I am about Kyle Tucker.. He has stud written all over him.
  17. Hey guys, he just hit #11. Matched Heyward's total in 100 less games..
  18. Without getting too off course here, Weiters is a FA after this season, that frees up about $10m. And Gio Gonzalez is as well, which is another $12m.. Although, I would think it's in the Nats best interest to keep Gio.. so they could potentially use that savings to sign Bryce.. We shall see. An outfield of Soto, Robles, and Harper gives me a bit of a chub. Eaton is still there, but as said above, he can't stay healthy. As far as the posts above, Soto is the number 2 fantasy prospect in baseball.. The elite plate approach coupled with a plus plus hit tool with plus power (one site even called it raw ++ power, maybe fangraphs?).. He's sporting a .481 OBP through 100+ ABs so far this year.. how freaking silly is that? He's 2nd in the minors in OPS and SLG behind Jabari Blash ( a 28 year old in AAA).. He's slugging .808 and the next closet is Peter Alonso at .756.. What is mind boggling is he's showing this kind of power at 19 years old. This is rare.. I know there's been a few posts about the "Hype train being out of control".. this is one instance that it should be out of control.. This does not happen.. OPS of 1.047 in his minors career, while hitting .363/.436/.605.. I've been following prospects for about 6-7 years now and can't recall I've seen much like it.. I've seen the hit tool, the power and the plate approach but not all in one package like this and not putting up stats like he has in his time in the minors.. Now if we are talking legit real team value, then yeah Robles is maybe more valuable as he can play some outstanding defense.
  19. Well... it actually really does.. it's reasonable to expect he plays 125-130 games.. so that would put him in 45-50hr range (10HR in 26 games.. multiply that by 5 = 45-50Hrs).. on current pace. Meaning if he does what he's doing now for the whole season that's what he'd end up with.. Will he end up with that? No, course of not but you were quoting stats for Heyward after 127 games.. comparing to Soto's 25 games. How is that even a fair comparison? Soto now has 10 HRs in 26 games compared to Heyward's 11 in 127.. see the silliness in that comparison? Soto is as elite as elite gets as far as hitting goes.. The scouting reports, stats, etc have backed it all up. What qualifies a hitter as an elite hitter to you? This guy has hit .365 over 400 ABs in the minors and is 19 years old.. so it's not like he's came out of nowhere and just now started hitting.. The writing is on the wall here, if he stays healthy he's a top 10 prospect. Agree that the outlook of this Nationals team is bright with the young talent they've got.
  20. SOTO BOMB.... omg.... 10 in 26 games....
  21. Soto has 9 home runs through 25 games.. Which would put him on pace for 45HRs if we are comparing apples to apples right now (and no I'm not naive enough to think he gets there). Soto also has an elite plate approach that is probably top 2-3 in the minors.. This makes his hit/power tools even more appealing. This is also a guy that's a career .365 hitter in the minors, maybe there are some similarities but man.. I see quite a few differences and very few similarities between those two.
