I have been in this league for 15 years or so, but for the last several years the league's internal controls have become non-existent. First, we used to meet every week to turn in our waiver wire picks. They were done in front of everyone present for the whole week. Since then we began meeting less every year, until currently, we very rarely meet in person, and waiver selections are now texted to the commissioner or his assistant. You have until Thursday at noon, and if you forget, or dont get a guy you were counting on you are just out of luck. It appears the commish and his assistant always seem to get the guys they need though regardless. To me no one who picks up players off waivers should have control over the waiver wire in such a way, there is just too much secrecy involved, and the commish and his assitant always know who is picking up who, and adjust accordingly.
Also, there is no voting on trades. The last trade to go through was between ..........you guessed it.......the commish and his assistant, where Dalvin Cook and Carlos Hyde were traded for Tom Brady and Chris Thompson. A few league members complained, but in the end it did no good.
I don't want to quit this league, but there have got to be some kind of controls in place. What is the forums opinion of this?
