  1. Awww. The reality is Cole > Dede
  2. Every team has a starting TE, WR1 and a pass catching RB. Byrd is obviously 4th in line but the only the field stretcher (Funchess is more of an intermediate guy) against a slow defensive backfield. I’m gojng with him, just hoping that for oncecthis season my WR3 gut is correct.
  3. Am I crazy to start Byrd as boom or bust WR3? Home game vs slow and banged up Tampa secondary vs. 4.29 speedster who is second WR option coming off 2 TD game. Snap count increasing every game. Shepherd inactive. Funchess not 100%. McCoy and David back to help out vs Panthers run game. David also able to help out vs. Olsen. My gut says and Byrd has a decent chance at another TD, or at least a long reception with 70+ total yards.

  5. Thats my point....WR has been unpredictable this season. I’m not sure that most teams that started Wallace would agree in a matchup vs Colts. Going with your gut and hoping for some luck is all you can do with WR dart throws.
  6. As a Pats fan l, I’m happy that they want to make sure that he is 100% healthy for the playoffs. As a fantasy owner who is totally f-ed at WR for championship week, I’m wiping away my tears. It must have been a very severe separation. Tate and Woods came back from what appeared to be similar injuries very quickly in comparison.
  7. Sadly, I’m not sure that I do. Lost AB, Hogan to be inactive again, had to bench Cobb after the Rodgers fiasco. So for me it’s Godwin, Byrd or Wright. In his two games as the WR2 (Evans suspension and Jackson injury last week) he put up 8.5 points twice in my 1/2 PPR league. I’d take that out of my WR3 this week. With Jackson and Howard out, vulnerable Carolina pass D and what is likely to be a pass heavy game plan, I don’t think that he’s a bad desperation play....as long as Winston has enough time to throw. This has been a bad year for fantasy WRs. How do Thielan and Wallace owners feel today? Those two were theoretically no brainer starts over Godwin and I wouldn’t be surprised if Godwin outscores both of them this week.
  8. If he is active, I may put him in my lineup, although wouldn’t feel great about it. I wouldn’t base a decision solely on the Miami game. Gronk makes a massive difference for this offense. Without him, they could double Cooks and Hogan deep, which they did. Cooks was s--- down too. Hogan came close to a TD, just couldn’t get the second foot down in the end zone. He’s also had 2 more weeks to heal. Even at less than 100%, he has TD potential bc Brady loves him in the red zone. It really depends upon your other options. I’m scrambling without AB.
  9. You sure about that. There are no sure things in fantasy football.
  10. I’m still debating. Hundley scares the hell out of me. With Rodges he would have been money, such a shame.
  11. How about the fact that other than two games during which he was injured and one game played in a tropical storm, he’s been a consistent QB1. Can you say the same about Flacco?
  12. I was thinking Humphries but Godwin is interesting. 5/68 week 10 filling in for Evans, 5/68 last week, filling in for Jackson final 3 quarters. I think that there is a good chance either Byrd or Godwin score a TD in that game. Combo of opportunity and bad DBs. But which one. ?
  13. I thought about Flacco then I remember watching that offense several times this year. No thanks, even against a bad pass defense. Brate made plays in the 4th quarter despite being dinged up. A poor running attack only gives Winston more opportunities to make plays through the air, which is where the Panthers are vulnerable anyway.
  14. Just when I thought that I couldn’t get more depressed about my wide receiver choices, I read your post. Haha. Thanks for the input. Having AB used to allow me to easily survive a dud by one or even two of my wide receivers. No more.
  15. 1/2 PPR. One of many sad former AB owner. Going for 3rd championship in 4 years (2nd last year). Strong everywhere but WR, which is a horror show. Going to have to get lucky with at least 2 out of the 3 WRs they need to start. Cobb home v. Minn Tyrell Williams at Jets Cole home at SF Hogan home v. Buff Wright home v. Clev Byrd home v. Tampa Cobb would have been a good play with Adams out if Rodgers was playing. Williams may get more looks with Henry out (Gates can’t play anymore) and I like his big play potential vs Jets. Hogan would be fine if his shoulder wasn’t f-ed. Can I trust him even if he is active? Cole has been great and no M. Lee but can I trust that he’ll come through 4 weeks in a row, with Hurns maybe back? Wright’s QB stinks and they may go run heavy. Byrd is boom or bust but I just have a feeling that he is due for a long TB against terrible Tampa secondary. Leaning Williams, Cole and Hogan (if active and reports are good on Sunday morning). Obviously have to decided about Cobb before Sunday. Thanks!
  16. https://www.fantasypros.com/2017/12/bobby-sylvesters-week-16-rankings-fantasy-football/ Jameis Winston QB10 As I write this Thursday morning, if you asked our huge expert pool who is the best streamer, 69% would say Nick Foles , 24% have Blake Bortles and only 7% will agree with me in that it is Jameis Winston so take that for what it’s worth, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why. The last time Winston played Carolina, he was predictably crushed, as they were playing in sustained 20 MPH winds with 40 MPH gusts thanks to a tropical system moving through. More likely, his stat line will end up like any of his other games since Week 3: @MIN: 328 yds, 2 TD, 18 fantasy points NYG: 332 yds, 3 TD, 26 FP NE: 334 yds, 1 TD, 18 FP @BUF: 384 yds, 3 TD, 26 FP @GB: 270 yds, 2 TD, 20 FP DET: 285 yds, 2 TD, 18 FP ATL: 299 yds, 3 TD, 25 FP I didn’t realize that the weather was so bad first game vs Carolina. I’m getting more confident about starting Winston (lost Rodgers). My main concern is the Bucs ability to protect him and give him time to throw. If he is running for his life all game long we may get bad Winston (2 picks and a fumble). https://www.bucsnation.com/2017/12/21/16808186/jameis-winston-has-improved-significantly-this-season
  17. After Minn game: “(Byrd’s) quickness is something that really helps us,” Carolina coach Ron Rivera said. “It opens up some stuff for him and not just him, but people around him. We will continue to work with him and watch him grow as a player. But again, he’s very quick, very fast, and is a guy we have to continue to expand his role in what he does for us.” I wasn’t considering him but I am starting to warm up to the idea. I’m in the finals but my WR situation is bad without AB. I’d put Golladay in the same category but Byrd has less competition.
  18. I expect a solid game with a good chance at a TD but a 20+ game seems unlikely. 15-20 seems about right. Last week was a perfect storm (in a good way) for him with Coleman injured and facing a Tampa D that is just decimated by injury. I could have run through that hole in the 4th quarter (and then would have been put in the hospital by the DB instead of juking him for a TD).
  19. Clearly none of these posters actually watch the games, because if they did they would never recommend Ryan in a championship game. He’s been God awful, both as a fantasy QB and a real life QB. Ignore what he did last season. It’s not relevant. Go Bortles or pick up someone like Winston.
  20. No worries. We’re used to bailing out Brits during times of trouble! I would go AJ over Cole as well. I know that he’s been a disappointment the last two weeks but you don’t want to live with the regret of losing because you sat him over a rookie (see Evans, Mike vs. Falcons last week). I picked up Cole after losing AB but I’m not confident starting him and I don’t have another WR of Green’s caliber. Having said that, if you are more of an instinct type of guy and that has served you well this season, you can go with your gut. Good luck! PS: Howard over Williams.
  21. Jackson has been trash all year and Winston will just pepper Brate instead. Winston has looked very good (second best QB rating behind Bortles last three weeks....can’t believe that I just typed that) but the implosion potential is always there. Tampa’s OL is beat up.
  22. Who cares. Just like yahoo, those projections are useless.
  23. Except if you do you research, the KC D has been much better in recent weeks, particularly against the pass. Some of that has been due to the offenses that they’ve played but we saw what they did to a hot Chargers offense last week. I wouldn’t play them on the road but at home I like my chances against Cutler. The Phins also lost J. Thomas and Parker missed practice yesterday with ankle issue.
  24. Except the game before last Tyrell the Gazelle went off. He’ll get his deep looks. Boom or bust for sure but after losing AB I may have to go high ceiling.
