  1. love Arenado, but honestly I'd prefer Vlad. He is that safe. And that talented. and so young. mmmmm
  2. in a 2-catcher league I think the assuredness of Bart (high floor) at a super weak position makes him borderline top-3 material. But I have weird taste. OTPOMH I'd rank them: 1. Wander Franco 2. Yusei Kikuchi 2. Nolan Gorman 3. Jonathan India 4. Joey Bart 5. Nick Madrigal 6. Trevor Larnach 7. Nico Hoerner 8. Jered Kelenic 9. Seth Beer 10. Casey Mize 11. Jordyn Adams 12. Malcom Nunez 13. Xavier Edwards 14. Travis Swaggerty 15. Victor Victor Mesa 16. Alek Thomas 17. Ethan Hankins 18. Alec Bohm 19. Cole Roederer 20. Marco Luciano Honorable Mention: Matthew Liberatore, Raynel Delgado, Jake McCarthy
  3. we need more info who is in the rookie pool?
  4. thanks everyone I declined the Calhoun/Kingery/Adell/Orelvis offer... I aggressively drafted Willie and Kingery in our inaugural draft... and I think I'd be giving up on them too soon. It's a bit sentimental - and Robles is eletric - but the potential for future regret was too high there but I put out this offer -- figure it will be enticing given the trade partner badly needs a youth movement Jo Adell, Kevin Smith, Antonio Cabello, Orelvis Martinez We'll see what happens next...
  5. oh man... you basically echoed all my thoughts and reasons for wanting to pull the trigger I already declined but I'm exploring similar offers
  6. so uhh... I apologize for being slightly deceitful... but this actually wasn't a trade It's the net gain/loss from all my dynasty trades starting in 2017, our inaugural draft And I really, really appreciate all the input. I'd been 2nd guessing myself. I think without my disastrous Snell+Dozier for Kieboom+Verdugo trade, it would be far easier to say which side came out on top. For a while I regretted flipping Andujar for Pache... but Pache is looking phenomenal and the upside is quite a bit higher imo. P.S. I have another one on the table... looking to add a gold nugget to my treasure chest I was offered Victor Robles for Jo Adell, Willie Calhoun, Scott Kingery, and Orelvis Martinez. All four seems like too much... but 3/4 could be worth moving if Robles is as electric as I think....
  7. 20-team dynasty Tank team with lots of young studs (Bregman, Vladdy, Xander, JoAdell) I'd say my first crack at contention will be 2020 I was offered Victor Robles for these four players: Jo Adell, Willie Calhoun, Scott Kingery, Orelvis Martinez Is Robles dynamic enough to be worth it? And how much of a surefire fantasy star is Jo Adell? I'm not particularly worried about positions... so I'm thinking more in a 'pound-for-pound-' kind of sense thanks, WHIR
  8. is this a free league? also is it daily or weekly lineups? thanks
  9. hey there... any chance there are dynasty spots available? I've been looking for a dynasty right in this price range

how many minor league spots are there?

I've never played points... is there anything crucial to know?

    Thanks,

    Tim

  10. Hi. I've been looking for a league that meets the following criteria, with no luck: -Roto -14+ teams -deep Minors > $50 per year if any new dynasty leagues are looking for team owners, I'm interested. Thanks
  11. that's tough so you've got to choose four of Trout, Arenado, Machado, Guerrero, Soto, Acuna As much as I love Soto, he's the bottom rank for me. In terms of keeper values I'd rank them: Trout Acuna Machado Arenado Guerrero Soto I understand going with Vladdy due to his generational pedigree and age... but Machado is more proven and is only 26. I mean, he won't even be 32 until 2025. That's a long time from now. Dropping Arenado is more plausible, but he has incrementally improved each year and there are few players with higher floors. I also think evaluating him as a "Coors product" is a big mistake. Dude can absolutely rake, and would put up power numbers anywhere.
  12. that's borderline blasphemy .... I think he'd be fairly decent in the bigs right now. Folks be treatin' him like Cal Quantrill.
  13. forgot to mention: it was only possible with the help of this Prospect Farm credit where credit is due
  14. 20-team dynasty rebuild. focusing on offensive players, and abiding somewhat by TNSTAAPP My highest FYPD pick was 1.20... I flipped the following to various teams for various picks: Dylan Cease, Ryan McMahon, Shane Baz, Jon Duplantier, Jeren Kendall, Buddy Reed, Tyler Stephenson, Roberto Ramos, Tyler Austin, Corbin Martin, + some picks New picks in hand, I was able to draft the following: Nico Hoerner, Nick Madrigal, Seth Beer, Antonio Cabello, Malcom Nunez, Orelvis Martinez, Shane McLanahan, Misael Urbina Proximity-wise it's an instant 'loss', but given the context of the re-build, I like to think I increased future upside. But I may be in the minority thinking Malcom Nunez and Antonio Cabello are total studs in the making. Piece-for-piece, the trades ended up being: Dylan Cease, Corbin Martin, Buddy Reed for Nick Madrigal + Antonio Cabello I've been trying to sell Reed for a while. Charismatic dude and a great athlete... but the swing is too hole-ridden and loopy for me... I think best-case-scenario he's a .245-20-30 guy. Jon Duplantier + Shane Baz for Seth Beer I may have reached here for Beer, passing on Bohm (who hasn't looked explosive) and Mize (who fell, but I couldn't stomach trading two pitching prospects for one pitching prospect). This one may seem like a 'loss' right now... but isn't there a scenario where Duplantier's arm falls off, Baz becomes a #3/#4 kind of pitcher, and Beer is an annual .870+ OPS masher at 1B, RF, or DH in a loaded Astros lineup? I might of screwed up here.... but.... go big or go home?? Eek. I love beer. In every way. But I miss Duplantier. Duplantier for Beer. It rhymes! Jeren Kendall for Shane McClanahan I was so pumped on Kendall in our inaugural draft... I still believe but that K:BB is rough. I was also jazzed to land the lefty pitcher McClanahan at pick 74 overall, well below where I'd had him ranked Roberto Ramos for Mike Leake (I still need to hit IP minimums, lest lose a 1st rounder) Can't hold onto everyone... gotta get to those mins Ryan McMahon + Malcom Nunez for Nico Hoerner + Kelly Merrill Took Nico at pick 6, then accepted this: Tyler Stephenson, Tyler Austin, Pick2.19 (Merrill Kelly), pick 4.20 for Pick1.20 (Malcom Nunez) so it really ended up being -->[ Ryan McMahon + the two Tyler's + 4.20 + 2.19 (Merrill) ] for Nico Hoerner + Malcom Nunez woof, glad to have these forums as a place to unpack everything. dynasty leagues can be kind of crazy. ---- Per usual, I got a little carried away with young prospects to dream on... and probably slashed by Minor League depth in the process. But... if my 'scouting eye' proves prophetic... the future is bright! I just hope Dylan Cease doesn't end up being TOO good.
  15. still one of my favorite young pitchers, I think he's underrated and overlooked. And yet, all my rejected attempts to acquire him in dynasty suggest he's still highly valued. I think he's got the goods. Higher upside than a Soroka type but probably riskier. Prospect pitchers I'd probably go: 1. Keller 2. Gore (might be omitting someone crucial)
  16. I'm a bit surprised people are so down on Seth Beer. I realize he's a defensive liability and there are wooden bat concerns... but I don't see many other FYPlayers who can match his hit tool + power. He's the only player in this draft who truly wowed me during highlights (aside from Misael Urbina and Ethan Hankins), and I believe he has similar physical tools to Joey Votto (but obvioiusly not Votto's best trait, his approach/discipline). Even if he tops out as a .270 - 30 hr guy.... I still think he warrants a top-15 pick because he's a lot more polished and close to 'getting there' than some of these projects *prepares to learn why Seth Beer sucks and why I shouldn't have drafted him*
  17. Bryse Wilson 2 spots ahead of Cristian Pache seems funny to me. Probably due to proximity... but I can't imagine a real MLB scenario or fantasy scenario where someone would trade Pache before they'd trade Wilson. Aside from that, thanks for the list. Listening to the podcast right now.
  18. Nunez looks like a monster, chance to become a 1st division 3-or-4 hitter. I understand the skepticism, but I'm confident he is more Jose Abreu than Wily Mo Pena.
  19. points league? 1. Castillo 2. Alonso 3. Taillon roto 1. Luis Castillo 2. Alonso 3. Taillon
  20. it's crazy to think that Springer + Rendon wouldn't be enough to net a guy whose never played a MLB game... but I don't think I'd do it either! Give me The Chosen One.
  21. thanks for answering my McMahon thread I like Inciarte but I don't trust Duplantier's arm to stay healthy (knock on wood) Gordon gets you the rare commodity speed and Pivetta is on the verge of a big breakthrough... I like the deal for the Dee/Pivetta side
  22. mind if I ask how you order the top-3? I'm scrambling to learn all the prospects
  23. what's your thinking? feel like I could land a Kelenic or Groshans type with the pick... seems like higher upside than RM
