Looking to start up a 10 team free dynasty league held on ESPN. Only consider replying if you think you can genuinely commit to playing year after year.
5x5 H2H categories league (OBP, RBI, R, HR, SB and QS, K, WHIP, ERA, SV).
Roster make up is 40 active (max on ESPN) and 5 taxi squad (taxi can only be made up only of prospects however).
You can draft as many MLB and MILB players as you like - so you can stash prospects on your MLB rosters - however must be able to field a starting team. (Roster make up at the bottom)
Every player will be eligible to draft up until the the 2019 Draft and international signings (i.e Andrew Vaughan and Jasson Dominguez can be drafted.
Draft will start on a Google Doc following the league being filled. 8 Hours per pick (however pick as soon as you're realistically able)
Draft order will be randomized
Group chats/trading will happen on the GroupMe app - so must be willing to download and trade in this.
There will be no tiebreaker for a regular season tie, instead the match up will just end 5-5. In regards to the playoff tiebreakers. ESPN only allots us to do H2H record throughout the season, which I find as a fair way to allocate who should make the playoffs/seeding should two team finish with an identical record after the course of the whole season.
If a playoff match up finishes 5-5, it will ultimately go down to who has the overall better record throughout the season. And if those teams happened to be tied, it will go down to the H2H record amongst those teams. If a third tiebreaker is necessary, which is almost remotely certainly not going to happen, I will think of one between now and the beginning of the regular season to ensure all the necessary grounds are covered to prevent any later potential confusion.
Being Active, this is one of, If not the most important thing to have in order for a league to run smoothly. All I ask is that each one of you consistently does their lineups day in and day out. Even if that requires setting your lineup a few days in advance, I feel as if it is a very simple thing to do in order for fair competition and a happy, flourishing league.
Tanking is NOT allowed. If you choose to tank, or fail to set your lineup continuously throughout the season your draft spot will suffer. The way future drafts will work is very simple.
7th - worst seeded playoff team losing in semis
8th - better seeded playoff team losing in semis
9th - championship loser
10th - Champ
1-6 will be a lottery (dependent) based on that teams effort/skill. Hypothetically, if the team who finishes in 5th is much closer to the playoffs than they are the bottom four teams they will be assigned the 6th pick automatically...another example, if teams 1-4 are all within a certain set of games and all have fairly similarly skilled teams they will be in a 4 way lottery with equal odds. This is just a brief description of why tanking isn't allowed/discouraged and I don't think it will be a problem but just wanted to get that info out of the way before the fun begins!! I run all of my leagues this way and have found this is the best way to ensure owners being active throughout the course of the season.
Rookie Draft/New Signings Draft will happen each following year - 4 rounds, where taxi squad will increase by 3 spots (to 8 - so 48 players total)
Roster make up:
IL (8 - max)
