2015 Rotoworld Mock Real League

I am sure you could look back at least season and see that I am not one to give crazy insight to my picks. I barely even understand my logic. One of my most consistent players (won't mention any names) was at the RB position last year, and at only .5 PPR I do not think it hurts me as much to go with Lynch. One word stands out most to me with him that you strive for in FF - consistency. I will take 15/16/16/16 games over the last four seasons. His catches have also gone up the last couple of years. I think the addition of Graham will help a lot offensively, and they are still a run-oriented offense. Michael doesn't seem to be the crazy threat everyone was so worried about, and I will ride this pony into the ground. Never owned the guy, so here we go. Sorry for the delay - West Coasters gotta sleep lol.

With the 7th pick, Swole Sovrano selects Antonio Brown, WR, PIT

Glad I can get him here. He's going to continue being one of the most consistent top tier WR in ppr leagues and the Steelers defense is going to be really bad again this year which will mean tons of games where they'll be chasing points.

Swole Sovrano:

QB:
RB:
RB:
WR: Antonio Brown, WR, PIT (1.07)

Julio Jones. Excellent schedule, garbage defense, Roddy aging, this offense will run through Julio with the new OC. My #2 player after Gronk.

This is "the year" for Julio. Winky OTC

I literally flipped a coin between him and Brown.

Should have similar targets/usage but Julio has a much better WR friendly schedule and less legit options to compete with for touches.

100/1500/10 should be easily attainable as Shanny's new toy.. Especially with Roddy fading, no running game, no TE, and no defense. So glad he fell to me.

I really love Julio this season, and I usually avoid him as he seems to be perpetually injured. The stars are really lining up for him this season though. I probably would have taken Brown over him, Brown's only really threat this season is if [REDACTED NAME] becomes a huge part of the Steelers O and steals some looks from Brown.

I would have taken both over Megatron, but I can see an argument for Megatron being in that tier.

A lot of Trons value stemmed from being a freak of nature but also the only real option to throw to. That's no longer the case. Julio will be forcefed the ball every week while offering similar "freak" attributes and a defense that'll keep them throwing all day.

I can't discuss Brown without breaking a lot of rules, so yeah. I honestly have no idea who I would've picked if Julio was gone.

Here's the only thing that gave me pause:

Odell Beckham Jr.

Ok, ok... this a bit of a homer pick, but it is still justifable.

I will rationalize without breaking the rules.

  • I love the offense the Giants are running with McAdoo and the secondaries in the NFC East are nothing special.
  • The Giants defense is also nothing special and JPP's injury hurts it even a little more, so, that hopefully translates into more passing.
  • Not worried about the Giants "spreading it around"... ODB is the play-maker on this offense.

Abstract reasoning:

  • ODB did not get paid this off season and I am traditionally tentative around guys that just got their money.
  • I think ODB is youthful and hungry to show the world what he can do.
  • Eli is really good when he has really good weapons running with him.
  • 100+ catch potential

Concerns:

  • The sophomore slump, but I'll overlook it, based on how dominant he was last season.

Gordon, OTC and pm'd

I hope Gordon has been in the loop. Somewhat recall where someone emailed him a few days ago though

Gordon doesn't like coming on RW anymore but he's typically on the ball with things, I'm not worried.

Should we email him via yahoo?

do it

Done. Hey we never heard from deadpool about what his inbox looks like being subscribed to this thread. I'm guessing he uses a throwaway account for fantasy football.

Good news is, once Gordon makes his pick he should probably just hang around because those bottom four will make that turn QUICK lol. Those four have been pretty consistently active on the thread thus far.

Well... here's the thing. I'm currently on the 3rd page of my analysis for my first pick, and I don't even know who I'm drafting yet.

I am heading into a work thing and might be spotty with access tonight (3:00 - midnite EST).

I will check in when I can and make a selection when it's my turn.

After today I should be all set through the rest of the draft.

I've argued this point with many of my friends, they always bring up sophomore slump but the players who experienced that before ODJ didn't have a rookie season anywhere near that dominant.

When the only knock on a player is "sophomore slump bro", he's that good

Chronic hammy issues...
