Josh Gordon 2017 Season Outlook

Recommended Posts

His 85 yards against Chargers was second most they’ve given up to any wide receiver. Casey Hayward shadowed him on 71% of routes and was responsible for 76 of these yards. Hayward hasn’t given up over 80 yards to any wide receiver in the past two years.

Give Hayward his proper due, his brother died, he missed an entire week of practice, came into the game cold and played against Gordon single coverage. Kizer's limitations held Josh in check more than any other factor but you have to give Hayward high marks for not making mistakes and playing good defense.

8 receptions, 110 yards, 1 td, book it!

I'm so damn sick of these posts.

When will people learn to predict the entire game, and not just the first half? These forums confuse me sometimes.

Browns Fire Sashi Brown Keep Hue Jackson

No way the incoming  GM is going to trade Josh and Hue is not going to let his best player go. This big news in terms of who the next  Browns QB will be.

These guys have so many draft picks they can literally build a good team with the right GM

When I saw that Sashi was fired I was getting nervous that hue was next to go and that would screw up Gordon. But finding out that Hue is not only staying this year but also next year is a good sign for Gordon owners this year and those that scooped him up for cheap in Dynasty leagues. Hue is basically going to build an offense around Gordon if I had to guess.

Browns will have about 12 draft picks including  2- 1st rd and 3- 2nd rd to build a team.  Add in that you have Josh locked in until 2020, they can really turn this franchise around

Sounds like 5 offensive lineman they can draft to ensure whatever QB they have back there has time to throw to Josh. I'm surprised they don't start 9 lineman and send Gordon out alone every play.

Can't wait for next year!

Browns have had a lot of high draft picks the last few years. And even previous years. Stock-piling picks doesn't always equate to a good rebuild. Stock-piling picks really only works if the team is set at QB already (Patriots).

Browns need to stop passing on potential franchise QBs.

And there defense is pretty decent so getting a qb and maybe a lineman or two would help. Possibly even a RB.

Yet another indication that AJ McCarron will be the Browns QB next year provided he wins his well founded grievance.

Sashi bungled the AJ McCarron trade.

You can always trade draft picks for vets.

If you stockpile picks and then draft well, you can be a playoff team with the likes of Alex Smith. The problem with the Browns is that they have had a ton of picks, but drafted poorly and passed on guys like Wentz. That will get you fired.

The days of the browns tanking are officially over. The team will either go into next year with Rosen/Darnold and a legit vet backup. They will have Gordon/Coleman on the outside. Njoku at TE and Duke/Crowell at RB. That team can go from 0-16 to a playoff contender over night if they draft properly.

makes sense get AJ int the system as a stopgap draft a rookie and you will have a capable passing game for josh-coleman-njoku-duke.

Browns been saying that for decades. Drafting properly also involves a lot of luck. Teams need to hit in the later rounds as well for depth and potential starters. And not miss on the 1st/2nd rounder. Plenty of teams draft properly and still miss on prospects.

Browns have 60mm in cap room so plenty of ammo to sign vets

Browns don't get a lot of big name FA's signing with them unfortunately. And probably won't until they start winning.

Aj McCarron will surprise people. He is hardly a stop gap QB. He will be a long-term solution at QB. With a good oline and time to throw to studs like Njoku, Gordon, and Coleman, id immediately put AJ in the top 15 QBs and maybe even higher

Bengals havent slapped a 1st round tender on AJ because they think he is a stop gap guy, they know he is a legit starter they have already hooked their wagon to dalton though.
