Nicky Delmonico 2017 outlook

Recommended Posts

Going by the name Nicky, you would think he's playing in the Little League World Series...

Under the radar guy, looks like he's had some substance abuse problems in the past with the Brewers when he was once well thought of... may have straightened that out and refocused.

He was improved in AAA this year and was pretty good but not great in past. Certainly nothing that would wow you but also a good enough base that if he made improvements (on and off field) he could be a good player.

The unknown is intriguing.

Don't get suckered in, he's not good

You have heard of riding the hot bat, right?  Well there is none any more hotter right now.  While you quibble you just lost the chance for another home run or two for your team.

Probably. But flash in the pan stats count just as much as future HOFer's.

I'm hearing a lot of people saying to grab him, but is this another flash in the pan?

At this point in the year, who cares. Might stay hot for a few weeks, and his current output is very fantasy friendly.

You don't see too many "Nickys" in the majors.  Felt like a must-add to me.

Anyone get the feeling he's Kris Bryant's evil twin brother?... look somewhat similar, similar batting stance, both play 3B, but Nicky is left handed and plays on the south side of Chicago.

(PSA: I'm not comparing his skills or talent to Bryant, calm down)

Yep, he's got 1 hit this week.  At least it was a HR ...

Dude walks a TON. Swipes bags and scores runs on top of the HRs, I like this fella.

He's a late scratch. Hurt his wrist.

This is why you don't do the five knuckle shuffle on game day,  come on rookie!!

Worst pickup this month by far.

Not for me.  Six home runs was a beautiful pick-up gift.  Now with the sprain you simply go get the next guy.  There is always the next guy.  And hell, the next guy in a couple of weeks could well be Nicky D again.

I got on board late and missed the joy.Dropped him for Jorge Polanco who will probably go on a 1-30 streak now.

Does anybody know how many starts he had at 1B in 2017?
