Recommended Posts

I was going to drop him tonight before kickoff but got interrupted by a work meetings. Now I have to hold him till next Wednesday dammit. Just had a feeling this is who he was. A backup and special teams guy. Black Asiata.

He hasn't been given much of a chance and that was my worry. Pederson has been consistent with rookies so far through his first two seasons as HC.

Blount who is supposedly the best RB there has 1 TD all year. Wentz seems to trust his receivers more

Blount had a nice 2-pt conversion yesterday. Regardless the only back to own in this offense is Blount until further notice.

ALWAYS START YOUR STUDZ!!!11!11!111!1

Coop in std: ZERO   Coop in ppr: ONE

Clement in std: Three   Clement in ppr: Four

i've seen magick foosball games decided by 1/10th of a point ... yeah, sometimes you need every. last. point.

Clement did not light it up by any stretch, but he's also a ww scrap snag, whereas Coop was (in most cases) a 2nd round pick, making his pukefest of an outing 100x more egregious.  the warnings about his suckitude, coupled with Manuel at the helm, were alluded to earlier in this thread.

hopefully the guy who chose CC over Coop wins by the slimmest of margins ... having the foresight to bench an underwhelming slug like Coop was the right call.

And where is Clement now? rofl.

I love the fact that you went high and mighty when both players threw up a turd. This is not something you should be bragging about. My bigger point was that there were way better players to start over Clement, including Gallman and Collins, both of which were highly available and put up more points than Clement. The fact that Clement outscored Cooper when both put up turds doesn't change the fact that Clement was a far riskier play. Cooper is the type of player capable of putting up points, even in a down year. Clement had nothing going for him.

My thinking too...Clement has earned a passing down/hurry up mode role, but they didn't trade for Ajayi to to let Clement be a featured back.  DEN was awful today and kinda fluky that Clement was in there for 3 TDs.  I'd expect Jay's usage to increase after the bye, Blount's to go down, and Clement to remain involved as a 3rd down/COP back. Smallwood loses the most today.

fluky or not the kid is on a great offensive team and has shown some flashes....I think he stays in the mix...obviously not like today but can see him part of a rotation.  I'm not so sure they run Ajayi 20 carries per game....should be a role for Clement as a flex starter in that O

All year they have talked about getting him the ball and never done it now trade for ajayi clement isn't all the sudden carving himself out a role?!?!? they've already taken it away from him getting ajayi....

Who's to say Clement doesn't take the Smallwood role and Ajayi the Blount role? It's not so cut and dry. NFL coaches are crazy.

Had him in my lineup twice, and watched Barner out touch him.  He'll never sniff my lineup again.  As Cable said before, total fluke, nothing to see here.  Not sure what NFL coaches are thinking sometimes.

3 man rushing attack going forward. Smallwood would have been inactive if Ertz played. I can see a role for Clements with significant touches.

This is the same coach that said Sam Bradford is our qb and then shipped him on to the Vikings! That speak volumes from coach Peterson who comes from the toolage of Andy Reid. Coach said they needed to run the ball better this whole season, so they got Ajayi. Sounds like a buisness decision to me.

Actually, I think it will be Blount who will be phased out almost completely next as Ajayi's role increases. I think Clement is going to be the 3rd down blocking/passing back and this backfield shifts to a duo.

Ajayi has never been great in the 3rd down role.

Personally I think Clement will be used quite heavily in the weeks to come. I mean, why not? He's just another threat for the defense to account for. Imagine having Clement and Ajayi both in the backfield at the same time.

And to add on to that once the eagles running game finds their  identity and everyone roles are establish this going to be a crazy balanced offense.

Ajayi is taking the entire role. Clement will take a backseat after the bye. He has done well when asked to step up, which is all they can ask of the undrafted rookie.

Yeah, unfortunately for Clement suppoerters Ajayi's role will only grow after the bye week. Clement will battle Blount for touches behind Ajayi. Best case for Clement this turns into a 2016 Falcons Freeman/Coleman situation, where Ajayi is RB1 and Clement a solid flex. No matter how you turn it going forward, there is no way Clement leads this backfield in touches unless Ajayi goes down.

The chances of that happening are just as high as it staying some form of a committee. We are talking about Doug Pederson a coach that has yet to ever use a bellcow back.

Secondly, Ajayi is far from a good pass catcher and blocker.

Clement will have a role as pass catching / blocking specialist and COP back.

No one here is saying he is stealing Ajayi's job. However, Clement can definitely carve out a flex worthy role in this offense with those opportunities, especially in PPR.

This is also false. Smallwood is.
