this thread seems like an open party going out of control right now, hahaha. I know that the match up was favorable and cavs were giving away way too easy those offensive rebounds. I want to see how he does against better defenses (at least against an nba level defense and not that crappy pathetic cavs D) but i cant help  this feeling of excitement when i see this stat line. That line is fantasy gold.

Pop has quietly done a nice job in developing young talent. Murray, Anderson, Bertans can be solid, effective players for the Spurs. 7 steals.. Hard to resist.

I've learnt my lesson throughout my fantasy career. Grab now, ask questions later!

My next tattoo on both of my forearm will literally be "Grab now, ask question later!"

missed out even though i was box score watching the whole game. still available when he had 4 steals, gone when i checked again. didn't know who to get between him and kyle anderson. note to self, always have that one end of bench guy you have to part ways with even if you like him for a hot free agent.

There was one play where his defence kept Bron in check and Bron gave him props after. His arms look really long.

Forward rebounding rate is gold too.

that got my attention as well. Also after the game DJM was referring to Bron as his big Brother to the reporter! wtf? so i had to do some research and it turns out they have a great relationship.

http://www.stack.com/a/lebron-james-offered-a-motivational-message-to-dejounte-murray-after-he-slipped-to-the-late-first-round-in-the-nba-draft

With Murray taking over the reins, Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James offered some advice to the 21-year-old as Murray approaches this new chapter in his career.

"Seize the opportunity," said James on Tuesday morning at the team shoortaround, hours before the contest against the Spurs. "Obviously listen to Pop. He knows what the hell he's doing. Seize the opportunity and every game and every opportunity you get, just think it could be your last. That's how you don't take things for granted."

Murray and James have been close since Murray's days in high school. After Murray declared for the NBA Draft in 2016, he signed with James' agent, Rich Paul, of Klutch Sports Group. He spent months with James in Cleveland before he was selected 29th overall by the Spurs.

"It was a great experience," said Murray of his time with James. "I know why he's so great. (James) works out in the morning really early. He's shooting at noon. He's taking care of his body, eating the right foods. All that stuff.

Murray said he communicates with James daily, always seeking ways to get better on the court.

"First of all, the kid is a gym rat," said James. "He loves the game of basketball. I'm happy where he's come so far in his short career. ... He has an opportunity to go out and showcase what he's about. But doing it the right way, going out and working on your game and things of that nature. If you do that, the game will take care of itself."

Drafted this kid 15th round in a 12 teamer, started him 3-4 games, then he fell apart. Loved his game but the PT fell off and pundits didn't really sing much of his praise. Feeling foolish now, my primary rival has him. D'oh! Always speculate with the bottom half of your bench.

He's an awesome rebounder for a point guard, but temper expectations a little. Literally EVERY point guard destroys the Cavs, and I say that as a Cavs fan. The Spurs still have 3 playable point guards so I think there's going to be plenty of duds.

Very good point. I will say tho Pop seems to be REALLY high on this guy. The play he had while defending Bron last night where Pop was coaching him on seems to be evidence. The fact he was willing to make this announcement for the change at PG with Tony healthy is huge too. He'll definitely get plenty of run.

Oh I totally agree, and getting that justification from Pop has to have done wonders for his confidence knowing he doesn't have to look over his shoulder. I think he is playable and a good util player at worst, I just can't fall in love with a guy knowing that some nights Parker or Mills are going to have the hot hand. My main point was he's not going to be nearly as good as he was last night most of the time. I think hes more of a 12-6-3-1.5 steals guy

As much as I hope he has many more games like last night, I am keeping in mind that at the beginning of the season he had a couple of big games too. Then fell off the face of the earth even with Parker still out.

But since then, he has more experience. So hopefully he will sustainable strong play this time around

I think he has loads more confidence now knowing he's the starter no matter what. He will be better than at the beginning of the year, but I wouldn't expect much more than in the top 100-110 range. Still useful, but not a team changer to me.

He's probably rosterable ROS (and should be added now) but nothing has changed with regards to his game. Until he learns to shoot, his ceiling is capped. It's hurting him in 4 different categories. Still more of a stash than anything. As was pointed out above, he's a better add for certain punts than in roto.
