Capitalizing on opponent’s Embiid trade regret

Recommended Posts

So 2 nights ago I brokered a deal for my oladipo to a center heavy team for Embiid, the trade finalized this morning just after Embiid was going off and getting 30 minutes.

I wake up to a trade request oladipo Robin Lopez and Aminu from him for Embiid and this message (which I don’t want anything to do with)

“I’m already regretting this trade, simply because I’m a Sixers/Embiid  fan. I just regret giving up on my guy you know? I mean the odds of him playing 65 games is 50/50 we all know that, and with my other big men I can afford to trade him, but I’m just sad now.”

I love that I got Embiid and think I perfectly sold high on Oladipo (while turner was still out). Should i just shrug my shoulders or counter asking him to trade Anthony Davis or Whiteside to me straight up for Embiid if he such a fan.

also I’m currently playing him and getting shellacked

here is his team (mine is in the signature and league cats) I will respond in kind

PG - Teague

SG - Derozen oladipo lamb

SF - Prince Justin holiday Aminu

PF - a Davis Thad young favors

C - Whiteside Drummond r Lopez

IR - Batum rondo

What I wanna see is your team. It all depends who you dropping to make room for the other guys he's giving you.

Asking for whitteside is not a bad idea. Asking for AD might get vetoed.

Embiid is looking real nice at the moment and you are really strong at guard w/ both your IR's as well.

If anything you should clear space not add more. I'd counter with a 2 for 1 where you give Embiid plus a low end player for AD.

I thought about offering a counter for Whiteside (I think he'd take that), but decided to tell him I wanted to see Embiid in a full week on my team before doing anything and we could talk at the end of next week (getting killed by him in our H2H matchup currently). Hopefully Embiid goes full Ham in the next week and a half, amps up his reget even further, and i can make decent 2 for 1 play for AD. (Same risk profile as Embiid IMO)

I guess it fits. Rolo and aminu can replace Collins and WCS. Yeah it's fine trade but if you can get whitteside do it

I would push for AD in a 2 for 1 trade & if he doesn't bite then push for Whiteside straight up. Fans of their favorite players will often times give in. I know from experience when I acquired Whiteside last year haha I had to get him.
