Week 17: Let us all gather here to talk strategy

Recommended Posts

I've never been in a league that went to Week 17 for the playoffs.

our playoffs are only 2 rounds and they were each 2 weeks long

Any special strategy going into next week?

I ran into Gurly and will have to play him next week as well. Will they sit him?

3 simple steps......

1. Pray he gets some time off

2. I hope you have Bell to possibly offset Gurley.

3.make sure your WRs, QB, TE, K, and D are better than his

He pretty much only has Gurley and nobody else. While I have Elliott/Drake/Kamara

Just looking to see what other players might have their playing time limited next week

Playoff teams that have nothing to play for are the Jaguars (locked as 3 seed), KC (locked as 4 seed)

Teams that still need to win are Ravens, Titans, Chargers, Bills, Falcons and Seahawks.

All other teams are still playing for seeding. Eagles can lock up #1 on Monday.

So I'd avoid any Jaguars, Chiefs or Eagles.

Just to add to the above-- if the Steelers lose either Monday or in the noon game next Sunday the Pats will have locked into the #1 seed.  The Chargers and Seahawks could both be eliminated from contention before their afternoon games kick off...  it's unlikely the starters would get rested for those teams but they may be coming into their games disappointed.  If the Falcons top the Panthers and the Bucs top the Saints the Rams would have the 3rd seed locked down before their kickoff.

Next year and for now on join a league that has a 14 game regular season, and their playoffs are in weeks 15 and 16.

If Reid says he is going to rest Smith, Hill, and Kelce I'll be looking at Mahomes/Robinson stack in dfs and in my redraft I'll give Demarcus Robinson some thought.  Mahomes and Robinson had a good preseason game this year.  His tenure at PHI suggests he'll be resting players.

Step one: go to a mirror.

Step 2: took at yourself, pause... shake your head.

Step three: look yourself in the eye and promise yourself to never play in a league that has a week 17 championship.

If Patriots get a solid lead into the 2nd half of the game, I could see PIT start resting guys in 3rd/4th quarter.
