Ryan McMahon 2018 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Looks like he's been playing second base at AAA. With LeMehieu going on the DL is there any chance we see him back up at the keystone? Fwiw he's only played his last three games there and in the 11 games since being sent down he's only hitting .213. Could it also be fair to say that the Rockies already ruined his 2018 season?

I'm interested in this situation. If he goes to 2b in the majors and gets consistent playing time he might be worth a pick up in 12 teamers.

So he’s a pick-up in ~30 of your 50 leagues?  ?

Haha, no -- my offenses (especially 2b/1b) are wayyy too strong for players like McMahon to be on my squads. I'm very interested in him in my one deeper league that I have.

My other leagues (the 54 others or so) I have Moncada in roughly 35+ of them (W'sox fan, had to get him and Abreu on most of my squads) or Albies or Jose Ramirez (have him in some 30+ leagues as I thought he was a good auction value in Yahoo).

Called  back up. Let's hope they actually play McMahon this time!  Hard to fault the player, they did not allow him any real opportunity.  He was essentially a bench bat with the occasional start.  Pretty hard to expect a rookie to find his groove when you don't play even semi-regularly.

This is a nice upside add here. In a groove at the plate in triple a, guaranteed playing time, and home stands upcoming at coors. I’m all over this.

6 home games next week.  Buy now.

Black will probably play him in 3 like he does with Dahl

Well it used to be hitting in Colorado was enough on its own to garner fantasy wide interest in any hitter batting 1-8th.  Even after the humidor addition. This year though not much outside the top 4 hitters. Kind of strange actually...

Yes! started the night 0-2 on a BS K call by the ump, but has come back with two straight hits, including a little infield nubber single where he beat it out leading off the 9th....THATS what you look for when you're hoping to start hitting. You just need a good break. McMahon is seeing the ball much better this time up, isn't swinging at s--- in the dirt, isn't guessing, he's hitting now.

This is a classic case of “OMG THIS GUY PLAYS HALF HIS GAMES AT COORS FIELD MUST OWN IN ALL LEAGUES" Rotoworld overreaction.

Perhaps you can allow a 23 year old prospect to prove himself. The kid has a great approach at the plate. I still want to see him get the Ks down, but McMahon isn't ever going to be a masher, more a line drive hitter...if he was playing in Seattle, Pittsburgh or San Diego he'd still be an exciting young hitter.

Are you forgetting that mcmahon is 23 years old and posted a 374/ 411/ 612 slash line in triple a last year? I think there’s just a tad bit reason to be excited about his potential.

Mcmahon has had 88 sporadic at bats at the major league level and your already writing him off?

No, I’m just in general.  There is a shred of truth that if he was on the royals or rays, nobody would care.  I don’t have to like every single Prospects that’s called up.  I’ve certainly been wrong before

I’d enjoy him getting 2B eligibility, he’s a start away from 3B in yahoo

2-4 last night.  Hopefully if he shows signs of life he gets moved up in the lineup.
