Who knows.  A lot of question marks for any guy who may close in that BP.  I'm sure he will find a way to blow it if he gets the gig.  But at this point I'd give him a shot.  Regardless of the numbers, I can't stand watching Dyson.

Dyson sucks.

He just doesn't have the composure of a closer IMO.  Seems to constantly give up leadoff walks or hits, which usually come back and bite him.  Moronta, Watson, Blach for all I care.  Almost anyone else at this point.  I would still like Moronta to get a shot, but I know that won't happen any time soon.

Moronta is wild.

Since they have both Smith and Watson either can do it, too.

I would bet on Smith over Watson given Bochy's comments about leaving Watson where he is.

Melancon definitely still in the mix.

Interesting on Watson.

Stupid Strickland.

Maybe Strickland and Giles can set up some sparring sessions together.  Two morons, one stone.

I would probably prefer Smith over Watson as well.

Rondon with the save tonight for Houston in Tampa Bay. Brought in bottom 9 of a 1-0 game against the 4-5-6 batters. 3 Ks and an infield single.

Giles hasn't had a save since 6/12. Can I drop him yet?

Why not Moronta?

The other options are have much better control and more experience.

Not a single. Error by Marwin IMO. Ended up getting him the 3rd K though which works out. ??

Probably because I played a lot of baseball and that was a bad play by Marwin.

I hear you - I actually didn’t even see it, so I totally defer.  Thought you didn’t notice at first and thought you’d like to know that he was charged with a hit.  No offense intended!

Just for reference.  But yes the above are right, he has some control issues.  I would say the only knock for me on most of the other guys is they are thriving in their current roles.

Plus, I don’t own Rendon. I own Rondon. ;)

All good though. I’ll take a 1.00 WHIP all day err day.

Ha!  I think I was busy watching Rendon flail away in vain against Nola and got my signals crossed!

Also pondering this. Does it even make sense to roster Giles at this point in standard leagues? Rondon seems to have the hold on the position.

Honest question - has Bruce Bochy ever had a lefty closer?

It wont matter if Watson ***** the bed again. He started last season as Pitt's closer and was horrible giving way to Felipe River...Vazquez.
