Keeper advice?

Recommended Posts

Fairly standard 12-team league that includes 1/2 PPR. We can keep up to three players, but I don't think we have to keep any...I'll have to check with the commish. This is my second year in this league. We start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R/T, K, Def.

Anyway, I can choose from the following players as keepers this year, including the rounds attached to them. Every year a player is kept, a round is added...so I drafted Gronk in Rd2 last year, making him a Rd1 keeper this year. Waiver pickups automatically get a Rd3 tag, which I don't really agree with, but it is what it is.

QB...Brees (2), Watson (3)

RB...Ingram (3), Gore (5), Stewart (10), Foreman (13)

WR...ESanders (5), Thielen (8), Corey Davis (9)

TE...Gronk (1)

I managed to get the 1-seed in the playoffs as the third highest scoring team in my first year in this league. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the keepers to get me to that level again without a great draft.

Thoughts?

Watson, Thielen and Davis--but you're right; attaching Round 3 status to free agent pickups is ridiculous.

Brees, Gronk, Theilen that's a good solid core of players right there you'll own & get nice production out of for years to come!

You'd take Gronk in the 1st and Brees in the 2nd?

Do you ever PLAY fantasy football, or do you just have the life goal of responding to every thread on the site?

Some things are better kept simple.

This.  Theilen, Davis, Foreman all great value vs their ADP.  None of the others should even be considered.

I think Watson at 3, Thielen at 8, and Davis at 9 is an excellent setup for you. You still have rounds 1&2 to grab elites that will definitely be there. Watson in the 3rd isn't ideal but if we're thinking you have to keep 3, Brees at 2 and Gronk at 1 are dumb. Even if it were 6 pt passing, I'd take Watson at 3 over Brees at 2, giving you better core picks early. There isn't anything else on your roster I'd want to keep as opposed to the chance of grabbing someone better.

*edit. I forgot to mention, Foreman at 13 could be considered over Davis, all depends on if you trust his achilles recovered and won't be an issue.
