If ESPN can't get this guy a headshot 5 weeks into the season there's no way you're getting another position tag.

It's so easy to spot those who missed out on SGA.

Look at how he reads the defense. Doesn't rush his shots. Uses his length (7 ft wingspan) and timing to block Middleton and Bledsoe.  This kid doesn't play like a rookie and needs to be rostered in

This might be a question more appropriate for the Assistant Coach forum, but I'll ask it here.  Do you guys think SGA provides a higher level of value than some of the other rookies such as Mo Bamba and Mitch Rob, or fringe waiver wire players such as Noah Vonleh and Trevor Ariza ROS?

Take Shai now, but keep an eye on Bamba especially near asb/post asb.

I agree but long-term JJJ will outshine them all. 6-11 235 Thick build at 18 years old he'll grow another inch at least. Blocks per 36 is historic & unheard of, strange shot but it works dropping 3's consistently already. Grizzles was the perfect landing spot too, his upside is just spectacular.

Tfw you were able to snag both Shai and JJJ off the wire

I have the same look, lol.  Someone in my league foolishly decided to drop JJJ on Wednesday and I had the number one waiver claim.  I really didn't want to use that claim so early, but I figured there is a decent chance JJJ  might be the best player dropped all season.  Figured I'd go for it.

I also just picked up Shai for Noah Vonleh 5 minutes ago.  Losing Vonleh hurts me for tomorrow but most likely I am going to lose anyway with or without him and didn't want to leave SGA on the wire for another day.

That's a tough spot to be in.  I did the math on my score for about 5 minutes, lol.  I'd say my opponent probably beats me 9 times out of 10 even with Vonleh, maybe more.  Figured it isn't worth the gamble to leave SGA on the wire for another day to most likely lose anyway.

In your situation, I say go for the win if you really think you have a shot, and having Vonleh will make the difference.

I'd be curious to know on Monday if SGA is still there for you to pick up.  In my league, I think it's 75-25 someone picks him up.

I'm not tryna overhype, but SGA reminds me of a young Chris Paul, with length.  I'm higher on him than any rookie in this class, 2nd is Bamba, for all around positive affect on his team.  I'm thinking 3-4th round next year, but yes it's super early.  Just going off of his body type, skill set, and opportunity.  This Clippers team, and Doc know they have a diamond.  They don't have a Superstar that will negatively affect team ball or development.

I can see SGA, Harrell and Tobias as a nice core.  Gallinari is a great fit until he gets hurt, too.  It's a fun team to watch, and root for, and SGA is a smart young man with great basketball IQ for a rookie.  I'd value him very highly in dynasty leagues, considering there are some rookies with obvious flaws that will become much more obvious as times goes on.  1 would be Ayton and his terrible defense. Trey Young with his very obvious size issue on defense as well.

Maybe it's just the Homer in me, but Wendell Carter says hello! The last 2 weeks he's been an absolute beast for both points leagues and category leagues. Fantasy wise he's gotta be the best rookie. Other than him maybe Doncic so far

Ouch. Thats like being blindfolded and tied to a chair. You know the guy is gonna shoot you, but your sitting there having to wonder when.

That's what it feels like having to check the wire every hour knowing that it's only a matter of time before you see "Team X added Shai Gilgeous-Alexander". Lol

He's probably going to be ugly % wise but his counting stats should be decent.  Like others have mentioned he's got good bball IQ and reads plays well but he's so small!  Really needs to pack on a few pounds.  I think this season at least he's really suited for those who have punt % builds.

Well he was good from ft at around 82-83% in college

^^Yeah, and the 45% from the field going into tonight looks sustainable -- not bad for your lower usage point guard. One of the things I like about him is he's never a threat to go Josh Richardson . Size is not so essential to his game, either. He's not that slasher who draws contact in the trees. Dude's always and only shooting after he's made a little space for himself -- even if it's only a couple of inches. Reminds me of Nash that way.

Was he?  Maybe the games where he's been off from the FT line are just early season jitters or conditioning issues.

Early season jitters? He started off the season going 9/9 and has really only had one bad game from the charity stripe. He's at 84.8% for the season.

What numbers can we expect from him? Holy crap I'm drooling

Basically what he's getting now. He's a rookie so the range out of outcomes is greater (ie he has more upside) but the most likely result is that you get borderline rosterable numbers.

SGA needs SG eligibility, he's the Clippers starting SG.

Yahoo live chat then email or talk to specialist:

I've already done so.

There's a better way where you can vote for him to get eligibility. I would post the link but I'm on mobile right now.
