I am anxious to see what this Arizona offense actually looks like come tomorrow (although the news of a starting lineman out doesn't help). It will give us DJ owners some sort of indication of usage or if it will be another year of hand offs and running it right up the gut for no yards.

Inches from a 2 TD game. I’m excited

I think this kind of workload can be expected consistently as well. Loved his usage in the receiving game.

Inches from a 2nd touchdown and also questionable play calling on 2nd and 3rd down at the 1-yard line. But it is refreshing to see a coach own up to his mistakes and make adjustments from them. David Johnson is locked in as an RB1 and can't wait to see the offense consistently clicking.

DJ definitely fits the bill of a first round pick bust this season, and there will be busts. I don’t think he has a single thing going for him. There is basically no reason to believe he will be a top RB this upcoming season. He is aging and past his prime, his team will likely suck, his line sucks. I’d take Chubb, Bell (who is also a major bust candidate), Cook, Mixon, Conner, Fournette, and Carson over him without a doubt. All of these guys are better or comparable talents at this stage of their careers and all have way better situations. things get murky with him are in the Jacobs/Kerryon/Jones range.

I told you this take wasn't gonna age well

Why? Mixon got hurt and 3 out of the other 6 outperformed DJ (who had a 5th quarter). It’s week 1 bruh.

Yes, he did for the vast majority of the game. Nice finish though. Give it’s a 17 week season, hopefully he looks more like the garbage time version moving forward.

And the coach admitted his poor play calling. Again, this goes back to the coaching which DJ suffered from last year if you didn't read the article and screenshots I posted a few pages back highlighting the asinine play calling and usage throughout the year. In 1pt ppr, DJ has the 5th most pts among RBs. Had he gotten that 2nd TD, he would be 3rd. Kingsbury will fix things moving forward. Yes, this is just week 1 but you're gonna be eating crow before end of the season.

I passed on DJ and I think it was the wrong decision after this week. It should be almost impossible for him to put up worst stats than last year in this offense.

It wasn’t garbage time.... they rallied back from a big deficit, sent it to OT, and got a tie instead of a loss. And DJ was a big part of that

DJ should only improve as Kingsbury does the same with his play-calling. At least one instance on the goal line where they got “too cute” and Kingsbury realized that. Should be an elite RB1 in PPR from what I saw today.

People just forgot that DJ is a premier dual threat RB. He was caught in Mike McCoy's abysmal offense running on the 3rd string OL last year, yet still finished in RB2 territory. The year before he went to IR in week 1 with a hand injury. DJ has dangerous long speed, but also balance and strength to break tackles. His hands are natural in the passing game. Had a great TD grad down the field. As Murray grows into the NFL game, DJ will get a big chunk of the pie. I think we've basically seen his floor. His involvement in the passing game makes him matchup-proof as well. Also there is no legit threat behind him, be it a passing down specialist or goalline hammer, unlike in most other backfields. RB1 without a doubt.

The game went to overtime. I don't think you know what garbage time is.

the entire offense flipped a switch in that 4th qtr, and DJ looked great (was watching 'cuz i was sweating the o46.5).

the sequence at the gl late, which led to the tying fg, was not really getting "cute" - they had first and goal from the 8, and decided to put it in Murray's hands, who was playing lights out and in a groove.   can't fault them too much for putting it on the kid when he was hot.

the "too cute" comment was about the first half ... they looked beyond putrid - it was ugly.

they were also missing their best o-lineman (Gilbert), so, yeah - all in all i'd say it was a very positive day for this offense.

DJ gonna be very productive in this system - top 5 finish is certainly attainable, with potential for more than that.

much bigger road test vs the RatBirds coming up - will tell us a whole hell of a lot more about this scheme/shtick, but i say so far - so good.

This is one of the biggest overreactions I’ve ever seen. They blew up in the 4th quarter against THE LIONS. The lions were playing a shell defense and they paid mightily for it. Better sell high on every piece of Arizona offense that you have, because there will be many full games that look just like the first 3 quarters.
