Or they will be just drafted in the 1st round by smart organizations like NE, run into the ground en route to winning it all (i.e. Michel) and then replaced in 4 years -- 5 if they are good.

Until they hold-out for a new contract like Zeke.

After the Cowboys fail to win anything with an expensive Zeke, he might be the Last of the Mohicans.

Cowboy fan here, sigh.

If they fail to win a Super Bowl, it will not be because of an expensive Zeke.

Sorry running backs.  Some of you will get paid by stupid organizations (Jets, Rams, Cardinals, Cowboys, Steelers) but smart teams are going to refresh with younger players every three or four years.  If you want to try to be the next Gore or AD we have the veteran minimum to offer up.

Bruh, why you put the Steelers in there

They franchised Bell at $14 mil in 2017 and tried to do so again in 2018.  He wasn't worth it.

He was a 1st-team All-Pro in 2017, so I doubt they regret that decision.

My bench is super tight and looking to grab someone and its getting tougher to hold onto this horse

It's tough to pay RBs that much because they have such a small shelf life for the most part and can breakdown in the middle of a season. DJ hasn't had an elite year since 2016 and it may have been a 1 year fluke.

Exactly, DJ was never anything special outside that year where he balled out

How does one fluke their way to 2000+ yards and 20 TDs in a single season?

Lots of running backs have had 1 great year but never recaptured the magic.

It’s pretty difficult to not have a big year statistically when you get 373 touches (23.3 per game) in a single season. It’s extremely difficult to predict touchdowns since they are such a situational stat but as far as yardage is concerned, pretty much every guy that got that many touches and was even remotely involved in the passing game got a ton of yards:

Ok. Anybody with eyeballs could tell you that DJ was one of the most dominant football players on the planet that year, and the year prior.

It's obvious he's lost his mojo, but calling one of the greatest fantasy football seasons of all time a fluke is just disingenuous. Put some respect on his name!

DJ was RB10 last year. Was a top 5 RB this year before he got hurt. People calling his one beast year a fluke, have never seen DJ play.
