Davante Adams 2019 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Couldn’t get a break and have a bye week as one of these healing weeks. Nope, if he comes back for week 9 (hopefully) or week 10 he’s right back out on bye. And if he’s not back til week 10, don’t you think they’ll give it more time and wait til week 12.

Davante Adams is not going to come back till the turf toe is pretty much healed.  His game is all about quickness, and cutting ability to be a difference maker -- without it, he won't have his special sauce. I got him 1st round in multiple leagues, and in one league he's killing my WRs but its better he comes back healthy than rush back and go on IR.

there's just no reason for the Packers to rush him back at this point. As long as they keep winning they can afford to let him get all the way back to 100%

Adams will play when he's ready. I don't think the Packers will hold him out merely because they are winning without him. I think there is an off chance he plays this week, but we'll see.

I agree. I'm feeling like either one week before the bye or right after the bye. But I'm no Ian Rappaport...so take my prediction with a grain of salt.

If he's close to the bye they will sit him more than likely.

If they sit him through the bye, it will be because Adams doesn't feel ready to play. I highly doubt the Packers are going to just roll the dice and assume they will keep winning without him and not play him just because. Teams want to keep winning, not keep gambling on the off chance it keeps happening without their star WR.

did i miss something with Rap here?  i know he tweeted out erroneous info, but did he say he personally ran the MRI and examined Adams himself?  is he also a sports medicine specialist/orthopedist?

far be it for me to defend him, but, ferchrissakes, he got it from sources ... his gig is predicated on breaking news ... he was wrong - wasn't the first, won't be the last 🤷‍♂️

aside to all that, there were a few of us in here sounding the MULTI WEEK ABSENCE alarm bell the night of the injury, and before Rap reported anything ... and we were laughed at and dismissed up in here.

physicians/crybabies- heal thyselves.

Doubt he plays this week because his toe is still injured

fixed, because Mahomes status doesn't mean a f'n thing if Adams toe is still wonky.

I don't think NFL teams think this way.  Every NFL team is dangerous, even the Dolphins.  Weren't the Fins up against the Bills into the 4th quarter?  GB will field its best team.  If Adams can play, he will play.

The point is his sources are often wrong or he doesn't verify. Schecter on the other hand has sources that are usually right.

yeah, i get that, and even cited as such in my post.

guess my point is: why did folks place credence in it before hearing officially from the Packers/Adams?

i mean, it came off like "RAP IS AN IDIOT AND ALWAYS WRONG I NEVER LISTEN TO HIM BUT I DID THIS TIME AND HE WAS WRONG AND AN IDIOT!!1!"

the fault lies in those who gave it any merit before all the facts were in ... that's about it.

No I think it was more "THIS GUY IS ALWAYS WRONG" and then "SEE I TOLD YOU SO"

As a KC fan I can also add that last week he tweeted a Mahomes update shortly before Reid's weekly press conference. When asked about Rap's tweet Andy replied something along the lines of "I really don't know how he knows more than us I haven't seen him in the building today."

ok ... but what difference did/does it make?

i never take any injury news seriously 'til i see practice reports for Thusday & Friday - unless, of course, they're of the HOLY CHIT! type like Brees or Mahomes or Saquon or Guice or ....Adams 🤷‍♂️

only way i can see Rap's misinfo hurting a magick foosballer was if someone dealt for him predicated on Rap's tweet ... and, if that were the case, the schmuck who listened deserves all the grief he/she/they are getting atm.

Literally no team evaluates injuries like this. Again, if Adams feels he can play and the team believes he's ready, he will play. They aren't going to make that decision based on the other team's situation or the bye week or that they have been able to win without him. If he's ready to play, he will play.

I can’t decide if it’s great or terrible the way this injury report has been updated.  Some dudes poop and you hear about it.   This cat It’s all crickets.
