Without the most pristine conditions possible, he is a terrible NFL QB

Goff still Top 15 talent-wise?😯

He still might be. Says more about the depth of the talent at the QB position than anything else.

Goff is struggling due to OLine and poor play-calling. The play-calling is what set him apart the previous two seasons. That needs to be figured out by McVay to elevate Goff again. Goff isn't able to elevate himself and those around him despite play-calling though.

Can the afford to add anyone?

Cause they cant draft.

Edit-just looked it up. Projected 17million, not counting whatever players they draft. So not a lot.

Projected salary cap

The problem isnt Goff. Its their garbage O line, banged up WRs, no running game and their schedule. Put any other QB in that position and they struggle too, guaranteed. He's been awful the past 3 weeks, but they have played the Steelers, Bears and Ravens, 3 of the best defenses in the NFL. Not only that, Cooks was out for those and Woods just got back. How did Aaron Rodgers, one of the best QBs in recent history look against a dominant defense on Sunday? He threw for 104 yards...Look at Goff's games against lesser defenses with everyone healthy and playing, he put up some monster games, including throwing for 517 yards against the Bucs, 395 yards in Seattle, 372 yards against the Bengals and right under 300 yards in every game aside from week 1 and against the Niners, who no one can throw on. The problem is not Goff.

Its not just this season Goff hasnt been good since the big shootout game vs the Chiefs last season. I dont think he's a star QB.

The simple explanation is what the Rams used to do is no longer working. They primarily run everything out of the same look (3WR, 1TE, 1RB). And the stretch zone run. Their OLine isn't good this season and teams have worked on shutting down the stretch run. Once that is shut down all of the play-action and throwing gets shut down. They have to rely on Goff to read defenses and go through multiple reads, which Goff has shown he isn't capable of.

Goff is the kind of QB that can play well when everything is handed to him on a silver platter. He can't elevate a team.

A lot of good content over the last few pages but this post basically summarizes it well.

This was back in October and it shows that Goff isn't even that great with a clean pocket. And he's about average under pressure. So the comments about him being pressured and that's the reason for why he sucks is ludicrous. He's just not a very good QB this year. It is debatable if he is even as good as his prior two seasons now, because if he needs to have a totally clean pocket to succeed he really shouldn't have gotten that fat contract.

he needs a clean pocket, a dominant run game, and 3 stud receivers in order to play well

And a head coach calling the play in the headset while he is standing behind center before communication goes silent when the play clock hits 15 seconds, in absence of the pre-snap defensive adjustments made by teams towards the end of last year and all this year.

If he has all of this, he’s an NFL QB for sure 😂😂😂

His WRs are healthy and Seattle looked terrible on pass D.

Surprised he hasn't been talked about much this week and pretty low on consensus rankings. He's been average in his career vs Seattle, but this has the makings of a shootout. We know Goff struggles vs the pass rush, but Seattle is graded as middle of the pack even with Clowney. Big divisional game, high game total, and Rams slight home favorites. Sleeping on him!

HUGE game this Sunday @ Dallas. I picked up Goff off of waivers and with all the weapons at his disposal I'm wondering if anyone else is on this wobbly fence?

It's a road game for Goff. Goff seems to have a mental block in road games.

DAL D is reeling at this point, so that's in Goff's favor of course.

Either way - if I had a more dependable backup I'm fading Goff this week.

Show me.
