Carlos Hyde 2019 Outlook

This dude beasted today,

Everyone was discounting him.   He deserves respect.      All I heard is how he sucked, and Duke or Damien were better players.

Ya right.

Hell of a week by El Guapo. Loving the volume too. Also, cracked up at seeing the latest Rotoworld blurb. This guy is like the Rodney Dangerfield of running backs, still gets no respect. Reads like it was written by a totally butthurt Duke Johnson owner. 😂

Carlos Hyde rushed 26 times for 116 yards and one score in Houston's Week 6 win over the Chiefs.

Hyde's fumble on Houston's opening possession was thought to have sealed his fate. That didn't stop the Texans from going right back to him against a Chiefs d-line short DL Chris Jones and NT Xavier Williams, seeing the bumbling veteran punch it in from two-yards out once Duke Johnson was stopped short of the goal line on the play prior. Even in hitting season-highs in carries, rushing yards and fantasy points against Kansas City, Hyde can't be trusted as anything more than a game flow-dependent RB3/4 moving forward. Note his previous production of 9.5, 9, 7.9, 10.4 and 12 fantasy points in the five games prior to Week 6's outlier performance.

Cant believe this guy is actually and still a thing. Was hoping that early fumble lost him brownie points.

Duke couldn't get free when Crowell was his competition, doesn't seem likely at this point

So YOU’RE the guy who wrote that Rotoworld blurb. Nicely done. 😂

This guy can still clearly run between the tackles. Is he outproducing what Miller would have in this offense? Probably similar at least. Great value.

As a Miller dynasty owner, I would say so, at least between the tackles (Miller would catch more passes than Hyde).  Houston always misused Miller by trying to use him as a between-the-tackles banger.  Hyde is more suited to that role.

I like Hyde, should get a solid 10-15 points per week, but this is a definite time to sell if you have the opportunity.

Hyde caught 59 balls just 2 season ago. I know Houston probably won't throw that many to all their RBs combined, but Hyde is a capable receiver out of the backfield. Wouldn't mind seeing 3-4 catches/game.

hes rolling with hyde? good match up colts and getting high volume of carries on a high powered offense. He's been running very well too/

Same. Also wish he wasn't tied to a QB who likes to take most of the GL rushes from him.

We liking him this week against Oakland?

I think he pretty much is what he is at this point. Expect similar production to what he's put up this entire season. This is probably an average game in terms of TD potential (essentially 50/50 that he finds the end zone). A much better play in standard than in PPR, but in the end it really depends what you're looking for.

What an enigma and frustration to own:

#10 in rushing attempts

#11 in rushing attempts per game

#10 in rushing yards.

#11 in avg/rushing yards per game.

Tied for 5th in 20+ rushing gains.

Barely even startable each week.

Didn’t catch the game today. Saw he got a ton of running yards, but also fumbled. Duke also vultured a 1 yard TD it looks like?

Houston scored THREE one-yard TDs this game.  Two were passes; one was a Duke Johnson carry.  It's pretty frustrating that despite the Texans being in so many goaline situations, Hyde did not get a singlle goal line carry.  Just unlucky/frustrating.

I'd add that Hyde set up the Duke johnson TD with a 50+ yard run.
