Yep. And the year before he had nearly 1300 total yards, 8 TDs, and 59 receptions. I think it's amazing that a few good games in a great situation from Williams means that he's sure-fire better t

Just curious, what's the weather like on your planet? Either you're siked or he's droppable?  No in between? What a joke. Here's a list of all RBs that went 90+ rushing and a TD last week:

Tell you guys what if your not picking up hyde as a stash on your bench you clearly don't know fantasy football.

I’d guess the over. Duke Johnson isn’t a true lead back, and I’d expect Hyde to get most of the work on 1st and 2nd downs. I think he’s going to surprise some people.

hope so... i spent 40% of my FAAB on him after i lost miller

This guy was buried so deep in the players list on draft day I managed to take a real low risk pick on him in round 13. With that said, I hoping he is one of those gems. New team, who needs a bell cowish player, and the situation automatically grants value because of the offense

I own Hyde and need him to produce given a terrible (auto) draft, but it's hard to get excited about a player with his talent level.

I will say that he has the opportunity.  He's in an extremely good offense and given Duke's historical work as a third down/receiving specialist, I do think he gets ~50% of snaps and 1st and 2nd down work.  That kind of situation, alone, makes him solid value at his ADP.

That said, not seeing a high ceiling.  Hyde scream JAG, and has had a thoroughly mediocre career to date.  And at 29 (in 2 weeks), he can really only decline from a talent standpoint.

You are absolutely right... I don’t expect the world from him, but Lamar Miller has pretty much been a JAG his entire time in HOU. I know because I made the mistake of drafting him after his amazing season in MIA, and saw it every week in HOU, and it just continued. It doesn’t fall all on him, because the Oline has been awful, but all you might need is for Hyde to be a good enough JAG to pour in some solid numbers. Honestly, HOU has been ok with having a guy who can fight for a few yards to move the sticks, and jump his arse into the end zone in goal line situations. Hyde can do that haha

Yeah, I mean Crowell plodded his way to fantasy relevance for a few years so so can Hyde.

I guess my bigger point though is it is hard to get excited about low ceiling RB3/4 types.  Hyde is the kind of player who you keep on your team for 50%+ of the fantasy season, and start maybe once depending on injuries/bye weeks.  You absolutely need RB depth like Hyde for insurance, but unless you get super unlucky, you won't start him much and he won't carry trade value.

This is more a drafting philosophy issue, but, all else equal, i tend to prefer high ceiling guys in my later picks.  I see zero scenarios where Hyde can approach even high-end RB2 value.  Again, that's fine and he's still worth rostering.  But I just can't get excited about him, despite him having good ADP value imo.

Im with you, I mostly prefer players with a bit more opportunity and ceiling ahead of them. I’m hoping I don’t need to play him, but would love to throw him in a package if it pans out to upgrade. At the very least the season is just stating and if after a few weeks I’m not liking it, it’s a low risk I can move on from.

The Texans aren’t suddenly going to become a running team because they got Hyde for a bag of socks a week before the season. He’s on his 5th team for a reason.  I would be stunned if Hyde hits 10 touches this week

He sounds angry, hungry, and upset with Duke's (and the O-lines) pass protection.  I didn't keep track, but I saw Duke miss a handful of protection assignments and miscues.  When coaches watch tape, that's the type of stuff that leads to losing your snaps.
He also mentions he only had a handful of plays to study for this week.

I expect his workload and involvement to continue to increase.  If you're a Hyde believer, it might be a buy low opportunity.
In games where they aren't trying to make miracle 4th quarter come backs, once he learns the whole playbook, I expect him to lead this backfield regularly.  Duke will still be the CoP and dominate passing work, but I'm excited to see what Hyde can do once he's up to speed with the entire offense.

Next 3 weeks aren't great matchups though JAX, LAC, CAR.

Sometimes it’s more about the right opportunity.  Sure he’s bounced around a bit recently, but seriously CLE & JAX were dumpster fires when he got there.  KC doesn’t even count.

He’s only 28 and still a serviceable back in the right place at the right time!  I think he’s easily a RB2 ROS.

Funny that somebody laughed at this, but so far I’m being proven right. This is how you win your league, by getting a guy like this essentially for free.

Yeah and he has looked the part too. I am curious if he will get more third down opportunities as the year goes on. I ended up drafting him in auction without even looking into him. So far he has been a good pickup and I am hoping the best is yet to come.
