Yelich or Bryant

Recommended Posts

Forever keeper league. 10 teams. Already have Arenado and Sale (have to keep a hitter and pitcher). Yelich is almost certain to drop off from last year. The question is, will Bryant bounce back to 2015-2016 form? Reports out of Cubs camp is that he looks like he's back. Who do I keep?

Yelich will almost definitely show a bit of a decline and Bryant will almost certainly show improvement. They may actually end up fairly close.  But I'd still go Yelich here.

Yelich for the reason that Bryant showed diminished power in 2017 and then had the shoulder injury last year, and his hard contact rate has continued to decline each of the past 2 seasons (even before the shoulder injury). Also, Yelich has 5-category upside that Bryant really does not. Even with some regression from Yelich should be good for 25HR 90+RBI, about 20SB and 100+ runs. That's basically Charlie Blackmon from a few years ago and everyone wanted a piece of him in the 1st round.
