They won't if they keep doing Smart things like acquiring Dwight Smith Jr.

Both the rule 5 Picks are slam dunks to make the 25 man and considered the most athletic players on the team. The best young player this year is probably a CF with a very weak arm that is going to get run on a lot.

Moving in the right direction, but it'll get worse then it gets better.

Bold Predictions

Vladimir Guerrero’s rookie season ends at a .920 OPS clip, rocketing his already-galactic expectations even higher into space.

Victor Robles finishes as the #7 fantasy player, ahead of Jose Altuve, who finishes 31st.

Yoan Moncada barely waits long enough to become a post-hype sleeper. He shortens his swing, starts eating healthy, and finishes as a top-40 overall player —> .264-86-22-73-23

Bryce Harper wins the National League MVP. Finishing a close second is Ronald Acuna. And third?  You guessed it. Victor moth*@#* Robles.

Brian Anderson goes from being Brian Anderson to Brian Anderson

Alex Bregman - whom many thought was done leaping - makes another leap.
He goes .312 - 35 - 115 RBI with 22 swipes and a .398 OBP.

Manny Machado gets traded to the Atlanta Braves for a prospect depth package featuring Sean Newcomb, Austin Riley, Luiz Gohara, and Mike Soroka.

Bo Bichette ends the season as the clear-cut #1 prospect, and many long-time Tatis Truthers admit that Bichette is the #1 guy.

Pablo Lopez dominates. Goes from “Who?” to “That is a guy”

The Rockies take down the Dodgers in the NL West behind nice years from Marquez, Arenado, Story, Gray, Dahl, Almonte, and McMahon. LA snags the Wild Card, then beats Colorado in the next round.

Aaron Judge finishes as a top-5 player in OBP leagues. Giancarlo Stanton finishes outside the top-100.

Raul Mondesi is the #2 player in standard 5x5 roto. Ronald Acuna finishes #1 with a destructive 40-25 season. Youth takes over the game. Salty old men weep.

Blake Snell and Trevor Bauer fight down to the wire for the AL Cy Young - Bauer emerges victorious but many advanced-stat-lookers cry foul, believing Snell to be the rightful heir to the throne.  (err.. re-elected king)

Joey Lucchesi finishes as the 18th starting pitcher in Quality Starts leagues

Tyler O’Neill and Harrison Bader combine for 60 home runs and 40 stolen bases

No way the Braves make that deal.

This one is silly.

- The Padres just made the largest signing in franchise history (and the largest ever until Harper), to launch their youth movement, which has reinvigorated the fanbase. There are so many good reasons why they did it, and to undo it would alienate every single fan. I get it....Padres suck, can't commit to players (Gonzo, Rizzo, Shields, etc.)...but this is a terrible take.

- Even IF the decided to do that. Why would they trade for SP prospects while minor league SP is their absolute strength (9 of top 15). They need no help here. There are also injury concerns with a couple of the Braves. Doesn't make sense.

Tbf, the last time AJ Preller spent a boat load of money in an offseason he brought in Myers, Upton, Kemp, Kimbrel, and Shields.... and only Myers made it through more than a single season with the team. Everyone else was allowed to walk or traded away.

Disagree strongly. At 48, this feels like a huge victory for all of us salty old men!

He'll have to get out of prison first of course.....

Touche...although those were trades and pale in comparison to Manny. And Shields brought them Tatis.

Interesting take, I came here to say Eduardo Escobar finishes higher than Correa in the rankings this year!

Jordan Hicks reigns in the control, finishes with an acceptable BB/9 of 3.5, and registers 30+ saves.

Marquez continues with his great '18 2nd-half, scoffing at the Coors factor, and runs away with the NL Cy Young.

DeJong finishes top 3 in NL RBI.

Robbie Cano 'gets old quickly' and finishes outside top 20 of fantasy 2B.

Grandal finishes as the number 1 ranked catcher in fantasy, with 30 homers and 80+RBI.

Freddie Freeman hits .320 with 35+ jacks.

G Cole and Bauer will be the first two starters drafted in the majority of 2020 snake drafts.

Daniel Murphy has a pedestrian season and does not destroy every baseball pitched to him in Denver!

Orioles will one the league leaders in SB. They will be terrible, but will absolutely wreck the base-paths this year.

Villar gets over 50

Martin and Mullins over 20

Drew Jackson in a part time UT role gets close to 20

Austin Hays gets 10-15+ after a May call up.  Even Rickard finds a way to double digits.

https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-orioles-will-be-aggressive-on-bases-20190217-story.html

Part of our identity is going to be an aggressive base-running team. Not necessarily a base-stealing team, per se, but we want to take advantage of opportunities on the bases.”

I don't think the forum servers would be able to handle all the whiny posts from scherzer owner's about how their season and life are now over if that happened.
