I think I speak for everyone who doesn’t already own shares of this KC pen, for obvious name and pun reasons alone, we all want to see the day when Dick Lovelady is getting saves for the Royals.   *insert the it’s happening gif here*

Pressly with the 1.1 IP save. Anything to see here or was Osuna just not available?

Roberto Osuna has pitched three straight games and four out of the last five.

Swarzak in to put out a fire in a tie game on the road in the eighth, runner on second and one out. Dominates with two Ks sandwiched around an intentional walk. Now in position for a possible W with Haniger's homer.

Looks like the 9th would have been romos and steckenrider blew the game in the 8th. So I think it’s becoming pretty safe and clear that it’s romo for time being unless it’s a bunch of lefties in the 9th.

Anything to make of the choice of Elias for the save opp?

I honestly don't think so. They put their most trusted guy in for the 8th with the game on the line. Luckily he got the win.

Just my take: Mariners had the big situation come up in the eighth with a runner on second and one out, so they went with their top guy right now in Swarzak to put that out. He also pitched yesterday so they probably didn't want to push him two innings so soon off the DL. If there was no fire to put out in the eighth, I'm guessing Swarzak would have come on for the ninth.

I was just about to ask this as well.

Maybe they were afraid to leave Swarzak in there for too long. He did just return from the DL recently.

LeClerc drilled two in a row.

He's really dropping his elbow causing the ball to sail high armside.

So he hit 2 batters and walked in a run.

He had no idea where his fastball was going tonight.

For the sake of discussion, if Leclerc's struggles continue (was terrible in the spring too), who'd be the pick up?

Guy wearing a mouth guard going to bring in Leclerc’s Earnies?

No I can’t face that reality right now. I’m fragile.

I was worried about Leclerc. Before his 2nd half last season, his command had been spotty. Hopefully this was just a blip but I was getting visions of Knebel.

good call/comparison.  Officially on my concerned list...
