This is part of the problem with OAK losing Brown. You’ll see better coverage roll down, especially with Ty Williams and Waller being the only two guys that really throw any significant concern to opposing D backfields. Hopefully you’re willing to concede that there is a middle ground between being defended “extremely well” out of the backfield and running free routes
dfstout 1,899
Idk i mean the kid goes out against a Vic Fangio (2018 Bears) led Broncos defense and puts up a Hundo plus and 2 pay dirts....hmmm...in his first NFL game...hmmmmmmmmmmm...😁 Edited September 10, 2019 by dfstout

You could also look at this way denver was supposed and imo still does have a top 3 def. The raiders are missing two stud lineman which along with an already very impressive line. Carr looked good. Waller and williams are decent enough. They do have a brutal schedule worst ive seen in the first 6 weeks. 2- chiefs great, but they will be down. 3- Top 5 run def 4- colts- good match up but they will probably be down. 5- Bears- worst possible match up 6- Packers- Def looked legit 7- Houston- Not bad 8-Lions- Not bad 9- Chargers- Not bad 10- Bengals- Not bad 11- Jets- Not bad 12- Chiefs 13- Titans 14- Jags- probably gave up by now, no qb 15- chargers. 16-Broncos DEN had the fewest TFLs in the NFL week 1. Worse than MIA, if you can believe that. They have a D built to rush the QB, but they do not have many players with much strength against the run. I’m expecting DEN to be one of the worst run Ds in the NFL this year. They have a glaring weakness right up the middle of their D and they do not have edge setters. Time will tell if I’m wrong, but this D looks highly overrated to me.

LongBalls 1,193
Jacobs looked good, but the better news is the Raiders offensive line looked serviceable and Carr looked like he could actually play QB again. If Waller and Williams can provide some semblance of a passing game there is some nice upside here. And they're gonna run this guy till his legs fall off. ludawg23 1,982
Arrow is definitely pointing up. True bell cow and once Gabe Jackson and Incognito return, that will be a fantastic O-line. I don't think the Raiders will play that well all year but his workload looks unquestioned at the moment.

K197040 2,412
I'm a little concerned with this latest Oakland injury. Hopefully, Jacobs will also be a big part of the pass catching on third down.

He gets what is blocked for him and nothing more. When OAK plays against teams that are more stout in the front 7 against the run he’s going to struggle. But he’ll be a good FF on volume. Gruden is clearly not going to give anyone but him the rushes. If he holds up he’ll have a good FF season, but I have a feeling there are going to be some clunkers in there when he’s up against a stronger run D and he’s held out of the end zone. He’s got kind of a Trent Richardson feel for me right now. This is kind of what I saw. He definitely physically looks the part, he is jacked. And he had some runs where he dragged defenders a few yards, but I didn’t really see anything that wowed me or made me think he is an outlier talent. No moves or cuts or speed that popped off the screen, mostly just running into guys. Kind of reminds me of Mark ingram where he can do everything pretty well, but nothing elite. Should be good enough for fantasy though. Edited September 12, 2019 by MJJ28
DerrickHenrysCleats 5,845
Jacobs is efficient, and he stands as the first rookie to total 100-plus yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in his NFL debut since LaDainian Tomlinson did it in 2002. I really like Jacobs. It's fun having a rookie on your team and watching him kick a** when other people passed on him. In saying that... see Kareem Hunt's first game two seasons ago. Normally, I would, too. But it seems that Jacobs will stay on the field for passing downs, right? Also, no Hill should keep this game closer. Raiders are at home, defense looked decent enough last week, and as an overall team, they might be a little underrated. I think Jacobs is a rock solid rb2 plug and play with rb1 upside.
