mavsfan23 1,184
Is it Ervin or Vanmeter to get the AB’s in Cincy?
street sharks 3,238
Well damn this probably kills any chance he had at getting 2B elig
ST. STEVEN 4,148
VanMeter already was basically playing near daily, but def will be now. Hope they still move him around a bit, also Scooter could be dealt yet to open up 2nd. Also he prob should not need to be sitting v LH...dude has put up a .358/.435/.774 against them in AAA this year in 50+ ABs

Yeah, he should play there pretty consistently and still move around a bit too. Had another couple walks today, along with a base knock, run and SB.
Tryptamine 926
Really hope he is what the peripherals show he is. I invested probably more than I should have in him, but his skill set in that park could produce some really strong results.
kwolf68 353
Really like his approach at the plate. And yes would love to see the Reds give him looks against lefties.
Von Hayes 232
This guy could be a difference maker down the stretch, particularly in points leagues. Rarely strikes out, can take a walk, hits for power, and has multi-position eligibility in most formats. Trades of Puig and Scooter have cleared the way for plenty of playing time. If he starts regularly against lefties the rest of the way, look out! Edited August 1, 2019 by Von Hayes
kwelch 969
Shocked to see him sitting today. Thought he would be a lock for everyday playing time.
dod959 1,018
David Bell would put literally any right handed human being in the lineup against a LHP. Peraza .727 OPS vs. LHP? Get him in there!
Tryptamine 926
Guy only has a 148wRC+ in his first 91 MLB PAs, so he must sit so that a guy with a 65wRC+ can get ABs.Veteran something something something.
MSkibisky 776
Yep, thats the Reds for ya. Lets sit a guy batting .471 this week. Edited August 1, 2019 by MSkibisky

ChicksDigTheOPS 2,480
this guy can really hit. I think he'll be the "Jeff McNeil" of 2019. He has dual 2B/OF eligibility in some leagues too, which is sexy. Edited August 1, 2019 by ChicksDigTheOPS

Tryptamine 926
Benched again. Unless Bell is actively trying to tank, this just doesn't make any sense.
Members_Only_76 7,249
It’s not just Bell. It’s happening everywhere and it’s sorta ruining the sport for me, fantasy aside. Lineup tinkering is out of hand.
hangin n wangin 1,703
Yea this is pretty shameful. Especially since it’s the ******** Reds. At least the Rays have more respectable players.
street sharks 3,238
He has 10 AB vs lefties. They’re not even giving him a chance to succeed against them Edited August 3, 2019 by street sharks
Slimzy17 187
This is ridiculous... can't keep this guy if that's all the playing time he's going to get. Baseball is not that complicated....

street sharks 3,238
Stealing like a mad man. Three steals in the last four games. Sucks he isn't playing every day

Sucks he isn't playing every day You guys have to be patient. Managers aren't just gonna wholesale replace vets in the lineup. Plsyers have to be slowly worked into the rotation and slowly worked out of it. The better he plays the more he'll play until eventually he's just the starter.
Hellgrammite 186
His speed and power metrics don't look that too impressive, and he has been caught twice already stealing. Not saying the guy can't be solid, but most ball clubs are looking at the metrics as well and will give veterans the first chance.
