Jaylen Samuels 2019 Outlook

Conner WILL miss time. Steelers RB's ALWAYS produce when given enough usage. Pick him up, use him for this week and just monitor Conner for the rest of the season. Steelers could lose their next 3 games, making it more likely for Conner to rest down the stretch...that's if he doesn't get seriously hurt beforehand.

This post is a joke, stop propping up your Samuels add with things that have literally no basis. Nobody knows anything. More likely to rest Conner down the stretch, lmao.

Has Conner ever finished a full year? How many times has he been listed on the injury report this year. He's literally been on the injury report for more than half their games this year. Why continue to run him into the ground if they are out of the playoff hunt? Did you watch Mason Rudolph? He struggled against the worst team in the league. The steelers are going nowhere and Conner will miss time. It's really not that hard.

at the end of the day, pittsburgh is still in the playoff hunt.

Lose the strawman argument. You're making baseless assumptions that the Steelers are going to sit Conner in a month, and that he'll assuredly miss time. He's limited, the latter is absolutely foolish to say. You're clearly just making things up because you don't own him and own Samuels, so stop misinforming the board. You're doing everybody a disservice.

As of today, mathematically...yes. If they lost the next 3 games ( Colts, Rams, Browns)...then NO. All be favored against the Steelers.

Either 2 of the Colts, Houston, Bills have MUCH better chances of making the playoffs.

Last time Samuels was healthy, him AND Conner had 8 targets WITH 8 catches.

This offense will do everything to get the RB involved to make it easier for their awful QB, so Samuels will always be a top 15 RB if Conner is out.

Plan ahead!

This is a pretty bad take. He has played as a starter for 1 year. By any unit of metric, one is an extremely small sample size. Put it another way, if you flipped a coin and it came up heads, would you really expect another heads by the same argument, "has this coin ever flipped tails"?

It's not baseless if you actually watch the games and are not just reading comments on boards for stats. The steelers always get the RB involved. Conner has not finished a season and is always on the injury report. Why not add him and then fire him up if Conner is out? Why not plan ahead?

Agreed.  Still only 58% owned in Yahoo leagues so he's still out there for many.

Holding with confidence.

3 weeks ago, this comment was laughed at. Now bums expect him to win their leagues for them. Absolute bums.

Congrats on having a handcuff, you're a genius.

This thread has a lot useful posts in the last page or so.

This might be our first taste of Samuels in a lead-back role this year. He was exceptional last year when Conner was out. Could be a cheap play in daily, as well.

It is smart to try to have Samuels on your roster if you own Conner at this point, especially for this week with Conner's availability in question. If you were unable to pick him up, I would think a trade could be worthwhile (as long as you don't have to give up too much).  You're covered with two RBs that are capable of putting up nice numbers (whoever ends up playing/starting).

In other news, 42% of Yahoo leagues are inactive.

As we've seen with Pitt over the years, every RB that is the starter is extremely productive. He has both a very high floor and ceiling which is nice because you can expect plenty of receptions. If Conner's out he's a RB1.

If it’s just a grade 1 AC joint sprain, which it seems to be, Conner will likely play this week. It’s a matter of pain management.

That being said, I’m hoping he rests it and Samuels gets the workhorse treatment.

planning ahead is for winners. Bad take but you won’t admit that I’m absolutely right. Hold on to your Conner without a handcuff, makes absolutely no sense.

yea use a 50/50 coin analogy to prove a point about someone who has been injured already in his short NFL career. You Are right, I didn’t have Samuels in all my leagues last year and cash in because of him absolutely balling out. He didn’t win any leagues last year. You are right. 100%.
