Michael Gallup 2019 Outlook

So would i be crazy to drop him if he doesn’t produce this week?

There is just way too many wr out producing him in the wire for the last 3 weeks.

This is the week he blows up if anything but if he don’t i don’t see him being much of a valuable asset

I would have to agree with this. He puts up another dud it's gonna be hard to justify rostering him, particularly in a 10-teamer.

Got a feeling he's gonna have a big week, could see something like 7/115/1

Dropping this guy way too many receivers with better roles out there.

I don’t think he’s talentless just not being used enough. Reminds me of owning josh Gordon with the pats. They hardly threw to him and if they did he’d get overthrown,

Looked absolutely fantastic on that one catch...I think he's worth a bench stash in case of injuries.

The TD likely saved him a bench spot on quite a few rosters. Time will tell if that ends up being a good thing.

You understand running everything through Zeke, that's just smart. Then Cooper's the clear 1. The problem is all the Cobb/Witten involvement. Gallup is still on the field A TON, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

You come up with that all on your own there, Captain Hindsight?

Giants D did a good job of taking away the long pass and Dak’s deep throws were often off target.  Left more for Cobb and Witten and less for Gallup and Cooper.  They are still the top two receivers on this team going forward.  I get benching Gallup but not dropping unless there is a top 25 guy on your waiver wire.

Look at his schedule. The next two games are decent matchups, then he has a brutal run until Week 16, and if you’re in the Championship, you’re probably not gonna need to start him.

I said after Gallup’s hot start that Dak can’t support 2 top WRs, and he’s the type of QB that beats up on bad teams, and folds against good teams.  Last night was close to the best matchup possible, and Dak still looked like trash for half the game.

Gallup is a talented WR, but with the targets also being spread around to Cobb and Witten, and Jarwin stealing the occasional TD, there is no time you’re gonna feel comfortable starting him.  Unless you’re very thin at WR, what’s the reason to hold?

It’s time to get ready for the playoffs... I’ll be dropping him for a 2nd defense or a RB handcuff this week. If you’re not planning on starting him against the Vikes or Lions, my advice would be to do the same.  He had 2 catches for 33 yards last night... If he hadn’t had a TD, it wouldn’t even be in question.

There was still like half a game to play when I posted that, so it's only like 50% hindsight.

Gallup owners get in here!

It's been discussed/debated before, but I'm not sure how much Cooper being out actually helps Gallup. Not that Cooper is definitely out this week (I think he plays), but in theory. Logically you figure a lot more targets, but it's also gonna bring a lot more attention. The attention Cooper takes off Gallup isn't trivial. Cooper being out borders on a wash to me.

I'm not even sure he gets many extra targets.   The game that Cooper went out early, he only got 7.   I think I'd rather Cooper play and Gallup have less attention.

Cooper diagnosed with bruised knee...expected to play but not at 100%.

I think that's good for Gallup.

I agree, the offense flows better with these 2 studs out wide. Just wish they'd realize how dumb it is to funnel double digit low % targets to catch and fall specialists Witten and Cobb

Last week's game was odd - they targeted him early, but he had like 1 catch through most of the game. Prescott was off on 1 or 2, but he also dropped 1 or 2 and was it coincidence after that they aimed way more to Witten and Cobb? After a huge start early this year he's been a bust since getting back.

This dude has more targets than Cooper per game played. I don't understand the lack of production.

He’s dropped a ton of balls, butterfingers, and on top of that Dak’s inaccuracy at times doesn’t help.

I’d say more column B than column A there.  Gallup runs mostly deep routes and Dak has a hard time keeping the long shots on target. Gallup sees the lowest quality targets on the team

Targets are misleading.  Not sure where to find the stats but I'm pretty sure somebody also tracks quality targets.  Which are a better example of his actually involvement.
