Mikal Bridges 2019-2020 Outlook

Anyone know why he got so many minutes tonight?

Kaminsky and Saric were missing a ton of gimme's and couldn't stay in front of a grandma.

Tyler Johnson was also out of the rotation, a trade might be coming? I think they had Carter/Jerome/Booker/Mikal/Saric at times, super small lineup. Then they went big with the wings with Jerome/Booker/Mikal.

Monty plays a lot with his rotation, but it should solidify once Ayton and Baynes get back.

I have no idea where Mikal is going to fit long-term. Oubre is the same age and a better player/shooter. But Bridges has that length/defense. Who knows.

He's been trending up for a week now. Good enough sample size worthy of a flier.

Mikal Bridges looks to have finally found a rhythm this season.

Now the first guy off the bench, Bridges is playing his best basketball of the season, but in a different way.

He is still playing solid defense, but is doing his offensive damage off drives and cuts instead of 3s like last year. The Suns are asking him to play the four when going small, but Bridges has met the challenge.

Looking better lately, but the minutes still look a little up and down. Is it realistic for him to see 25-30 a night?

I really wanna pick him up - he can do work with 25-30 min consistently. But with Baynes and DA out it’s still unclear how many minutes he’ll get once they’re back.

The only thing that would provide clarity is if they start him at the 3...

Prob not 30 forward spots are split between Cam, Oubre, Saric.

He was the first one of the bench like usual but somehow he was still d*cked around with the minutes. Oh well.

Ah man, Elie Okobo starting over him doesn't really give me a good feeling. I hope he gets traded to a team where he'd be appreciated. Can you imagine this kid playing the Ariza role on the Rockets? So much potential..

At what point does he start. Saric is done and both the last 2 games they have fallen behind by a decent amount with the Ayton/Baynes big lineup. Guess only benfit is maybe Ayton gets PF status fantasy wise.

Bought into the hype. Dropped Wood for him. I think he'll get 25-30 minutes moving forward. Monty was frustrated tn and he may even look to shake things up and start Mikal over Baynes. We'll see but I've seen enough to add now and watch how the situation unfolds

Last game he only had 17 minutes due to foul trouble.

Any thoughts on whether he’ll have a bigger role in the future?

MIKAL Bridges closed the season strong despite competition. Now he has much less. He's the Suns lockdown defender on the wing and he generates a lot of steals. Plus despite his rookie shooting, in college he showed good form and a faster release than Klay Thompson. He will be good and he will be good this season.

This shooting form post aged poorly

Lmao no I just saw Mikal's box score stats and was looking him up. Your post was on the first page so it made me chuckle haha. Also just funny how confident you sounded.

I still think he's going to be a good baller... He's unlucky to be in Phoenix though. They appear to be lacking in player development and veteran leadership. Philly made a mistake by dealing him on draft night, they could use him right now.

3pt % down from last year and under 30% to boot, seems like hes becoming a worse shooter hah, weird cause he seemed like he was going to become a typical 3 and D guy, suns must suck at development something fierce

Hard to roster given the role, but hard to drop given his steal rate. Guess he'll be just like McGee and be a category specialist.

For the past 20 games, he's been a 7th rounder with an average playing time of 26.6 minutes. Mind you, these averages are despite all the changes in rotations they were trying out (Ayton off the bench??). There's no way Mikal doesn't get more burn after his recent strong performances. I am strongly considering a pickup.

  • 7.9 points / 0.8 3s / 4.2 rebounds / 1.7 assits/ 1.5 steals / .557 FG% / .833 FT% / 1.1 TOs

The FG is no fluke either. He's been a positive in FG% impact the entire 40 games of the season.

If he sticks in the starting lineup, he will be a must own in 12 team 9 cats.

I think there's a good chance he will.

Wasn't due to injury, coach wasn't happy with Saric's output and Mikal defensively brings the heat, plus he's a handy 3 point shooter himself.

Run don't walk.
