Hi Would team one get the first pick in the draft? If so, I'd like to join. I've been playing fantasy basketball since one of the first leagues opened up in 1986 in New York City. Triple A fantasy sports. pozzivybe at aol com.

Wow. Curious how you guys do it back then.

In 1986- It was crazy. We'd get our rosters sent via mail. We would have to fax in our free agents and lineups every week. We would have to call a NYC phone number to see if we got our free agents. We would actually have to call other owners to work out trades, LOL!!

Snail mail, fax, phone...Must be really hard. You guys must really know each other to do this, right? Thank God it’s so easy now with the technology we have. You can play from anywhere in the world, all you need is a phone. And how do you draft, via phone? And is it live? Must be tough coz u don’t have all the stats readily available, plus probably no fantasy forums, no player rankings, no articles to read, etc. You probably just have to rely on your own knowledge of the NBA players.

(Apologies to OP of this thread. Just really curious how it works back then. And amazed to learn fantasy basketball has been on since ‘86, maybe even earlier.)

Hi, I would be interested but could you provide links to the league settings?

Is it a "keep all players" league? Rookie draft?

cheers.

It’s keeper league (four players) plus a draft every season with rookies and left over players. Picks can be dealt during the year. Pick bets can be made. Fun league. Some turnover through the years...still 3-4 of us left from 10/15 yrs ago. Looking for active competitive managers who can engage in trade talks regularly and some trash talk.

GroupMe is set up for the league.
